Actress Zooey Deschanel defended former The Hills star Lauren Conrad for supposedly copying her baby name idea by also naming her son Charlie Wolf. Deschanel thinks that it was an accident and it wasn't outright copying.

Conrad rose to fame at the beginning of the reality TV era when she was cast on the show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County back in 2004, which led to her being cast on the original version of The Hills in 2006. The fashion designer left reality TV after The Hills' fourth season to pursue other endeavors - which now includes two fashion lines, multiple New York Times bestsellers, as well as the podcast Asking for a Friend. While Conrad also opted out of returning to The Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginningsshe still has her hands full. Conrad and husband William Tell have welcomed their second child into the world. The couple welcomed their first son, William "Liam" Tell back in July of 2018 and just recently their second son, Charlie Wolf.

Fans noticed after Conrad posted her second son's birth announcement via Instagram, welcoming Charlie Wolf into the world. People connected the dots and remembered that just two years prior actress and singer Deschanel had just named her son the same name. She spoke to Us Weekly about the fact that they now both have sons named Charlie Wolf. The actress said, "That was so weird, right?"  She explained though, however, that she didn't think Conrad did it to be a copy cat, she thinks it was by accident, saying, "I don't think she knew it."

The actress explained that she and Conrad cross paths from time to time and even have a mutual friend. The New Girl star explained, "We have a really good mutual friend, and she was like, 'Did you know that Lauren Conrad...' I said, 'No that's so funny!' She's like, 'I don't think she knew it.'" However, she did agree that the name Charlie Wolf "is a really specific name." 

Deschanel made it clear that she doesn't mind that Conrad's son and her son have the same name. The fact that she defended her shows that she doesn't mind sharing such an adorable baby name. It seems that The Hills alum and the New Girl star have a lot more in common now with sons of the same name. Great minds do think alike. Now that there is confirmed no bad blood, fans want is to see the two moms and sons having a play date with their matching sons.
