The cult classic Lucasfilm Games' title Zombies Ate My Neighbors and its sequel are coming to Nintendo Switch next month with some new features. Disney announced that it was reviving Lucasfilm Games in January, promising a new era of Star Wars games as EA no longer has exclusive rights to create games based on the lucrative sci-fi franchise (though it will also continue making Star Wars games). This led to speculation that Lucasfilm Games might revive some classic series or even work on new IP.

One of the first releases to come out of the newly branded Lucasfilm Games was a re-release of Star Wars: Republic Commando for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Widely held as one of the best and most unique Star Wars games of all time, it tells the story of an elite Clone Trooper unit operating during the Clone Wars. Despite some minor graphical issues, reception for the port was largely positive and it has renewed fan hope for a potential sequel.

Now, a pair of classic Lucasfilm Games titles are coming to Nintendo Switch next month. A new Nintendo eShop listing first found by Nintendo Everything indicates that the ports are set to release on the hybrid console on June 29. The bundle will include the cult hit Zombies Ate My Neighbors alongside its sequel, Ghoul Patrol. Published by Disney Interactive, the two games have new enhancements and features, including achievements to track progress and fresh museum content, such as interviews and concept art. Lucasfilm has also added the ability to save anywhere and support for two-player local co-op, and each game's soundtrack is also available to listen to in a dedicated music player.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is just the latest in a series of remakes and ports coming to the Nintendo Switch. In the company's February Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed a wide range of upcoming classic re-releases, such as Famicom Detective Club and the many games in the Capcom Arcade Stadium selection. These announcements came alongside trailers for Mario Golf: Super Rush, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors originally launched in 1993 for the SNES and Sega Genesis, meaning that an entire generation of Nintendo Switch player will likely never have played the game or Ghoul Patrol. In that regard, it makes sense for Lucasfilm Games and Disney to bring back both titles so that they can reach a wider audience with classic content. The Switch is also the perfect home for these and similar games, considering how it already has a strong library of remakes and ports.
