Does Zombieland: Double Tap Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Zombieland Double Tap Post-Credits Scene

Sony's Zombieland: Double Tap is the horror-comedy sequel to Zombieland, but does the movie have a post-credits scene and, if so, how many? When Zombieland hit theaters in 2009, it was during a major resurgence for the zombie genre, and just before the premiere of AMC's now long-running drama The Walking Dead. The horror-comedy provided a different take on zombies, with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penning the script and Venom's Ruben Fleischer directing. Now, a decade after Zombieland, the filmmakers returned to their zom-com franchise for Zombieland: Double Tap.

Also returning for the Zombieland sequel is the main cast, with Woody Harrelson as Tennessee, Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus, Emma Stone as Wichita and Abigail Breslin as Little Rock. Ten years have past in the world of Zombieland, but when Little Rock runs off with a boy and the arrival of a new strain of more dangerous zombies, the family of apocalypse survivors must go on another road trip. The Zombieland: Double Tap trailers have previewed another horror-comedy in the same vein as the original movie, though it remains to be seen if it'll be as successful.

With Zombieland: Double Tap now hitting theaters around the world, moviegoers may be wondering whether there's anything to stick around for during or after the credits. Zombieland: Double Tap has both a mid-credits and post-credits scene. While the credits are always worth watching to get an idea of who was involved in making a film, Zombieland: Double Tap viewers should also expect two credits scenes in the movie.

Although we won't spoil the Zombieland: Double Tap post-credits scenes here for those that haven't had a chance to check out the film yet, we will say the scenes aren't necessarily relevant to the story of the movie. They do, however, provide insight into the larger Zombieland world and bring back a fan-favorite character from the first movie. Additionally, we will say that the mid-credits scene is the meatier of the two and while there is something at the very end of the credits, it's more of a joke than anything else, so it may not be worth sticking around. But moviegoers that want to watch both scenes will need to wait until the very end of Zombieland: Double Tap.

Typically, credits scenes work to set up future installments in movie franchises. Although Stone wants to keep making Zombieland sequels every 10 years, nothing has officially been announced so it makes sense the credits scenes don't set up another sequel. As of now, it's unclear whether Zombieland 3 will ever happen or what the story could be about. However, it's true to the franchise's comedy roots for Zombieland: Double Tap to have two credits scenes that boil down to additional jokes included in the film's runtime. So those checking out Zombieland: Double Tap in theaters should know to stick around for not one, but two post-credits scenes.
