Memories of the past in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are revealed to the player through Geoglyphs, ancient markings Link must find for continuing the main story. Also known as Tears of the Dragon, Geoglyphs give players the lore of the world while also pointing them ever closer to the powerful Master Sword. Since these ancient markings are directly tied to Link's journey, players will need to search for all of them at some point.

After players reach Hyrule's surface, they must first talk to Cado and Impa at New Serenne Stable to activate the quest that allows Link to start finding Geoglyphs. Impa would explore to find all the Geoglyphs herself, but players will find her damaged balloon preventing any travel. Using one of Link's new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom called Ultrahand lets players fix the baloon, leading them directly to the first Geoglyph nearby.

How to Find Every Geoglyph in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Tears of the Dragon Found From Geoglyphs

Every Geoglyph is found out in the open most of the time, almost like crop circles dotting the landscape for players to discover. These markings show up on the player's map through small teardrop icons, labeled with hints toward the lore provided through the cutscene shown at their locations. Players have to look for the tear-shaped mark on each Geoglyph to interact with the relic, which may be tricky to find considering how large the formations can be.

Overall, there are 11 Geoglyphs to discover across the surface of Hyrule that players can search for in any order. However, a final Tear of the Dragon shows up once the others have been interacted with. This spot may not host a Geoglyph, but it serves as a natural and final progression of the quest connected to each of these markings. The end of the quest helps players get the Master Sword, so this hidden Tear is definitely worth tracking down.

Where to Find the Tear of the Dragon

Where Am I?

Northeast of Hyrule Ridge, near New Serenne Stable where players get the quest from Impa.

Close to the top of the Geoglyph, easily spotted from Impa's balloon.

An Unfamiliar World

Southwest of Tabantha Tundra, a bit northwest of Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower.

From the middle of the Geoglyph, players can find the Tear near the top part of the marking.

Mineru's Counsel

In the Eldin Canyon, west of Zora's Domain.

Very close to the middle of the marking.

The Gerudo Assault

West of the Dueling Peaks, within the West Necluda area.

This Tear is hard to find because it happens to be hidden behind one of the trees in the forest if players are looking from above.

A Show of Fealty

In the Gerudo Highlands, on cliffs facing the larger desert.

Toward the top of the cliff, the marking rests on, a section with flat ground.

Zelda and Sonia

At the southwest edge of Hyrule Ridge, directly north of the Gerudo Highlands.

At the furthest right side of the marking.

Sonia Is Caught by Treachery

Near the oceans at the southeast of Hyrule, right next to Lurelin Village.

This marking depicts a massive sword, with the Tear located close to its hilt.

Birth of the Demon King

Around Tabantha Tundra, far to the northern section of the region.

On the far left point of the larger marking.

The Sage's Vow

Along the coast on Hyrule's east side, in Talus Plateau.

Directly in the center of the marking.

A King's Duty

The west side of Lake Hylia, right above the Faron Grasslands.

Once again along an elevation, players should find a spot with flat ground, which hosts the Tear.

A Master Sword in Time

Right below the Eldin Mountains, close to Typhlo Ruins Skyview Tower.

Another sword marking, the Tear sits at the very tip of the blade.

Tears of the Dragon (secret Geoglyph)

At the end of a spiraling formation at the east end of Hyrule, east of Death Mountain.

There is no Geoglyph, instead only the final Tear that happens to be the only marking players can find here in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
