The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is going to encourage players to use the many Nintendo amiibo figurines, particularly the Zelda-themed ones, by providing special goodies to entice players to not only use their amiibo but collect more to unlock more things in the game. Though the items that players may recall getting from the individual amiibo in Breath of the Wild will be different from the rewards in Tears of the Kingdom, they are still impressive and directly related to the gameplay of TOTK. These unique unlocks will likely serve their purpose in tempting many fans of the game to collect even more of the Zelda amiibo to see what special drops will come.
Nintendo has hundreds of amiibo and 26 are specifically related to Zelda properties. In TOTK all Zelda amiibo will drop exclusive items including paraglider customization fabrics, cosmetic items, armor, and more. All other amiibo that are not related to Zelda games will still be helpful, but more generic. These will drop miscellaneous cooking and crafting materials for Link to use in the game, but nothing remarkable. Specific details on how amiibo figurines will be accessed in TOTK have not been announced, but most likely it will be similar to BOTW and revealed early on in the game.
TOTK Will Give Special Gliders For Certain Zelda Amiibo Figures
Nintendo of America revealed four of the new paraglider designs in a recent tweet and stated that scanning any of the Zelda amiibo can give players fabric designs for customizing Link's paraglider based on the amiibo that is scanned. While they only showed off four of the amiibo and correlating glider designs in the tweet, many of the other Zelda figures will also be giving fabric patterns related to the game that they are originally from.
Additionally, many of the Link amiibo figures from Zelda games will provide outfits for Tears of the Kingdom Link to wear, including variations of the classic green tunic and more. These outfits are specific to the games that the amiibo relates to and will often be acquired after a second scan of the amiibo, so players should try scanning different amiibo figurines on different days in order to ensure they have received all that they can get.
What Each Amiibo Gives Players In Tears Of The Kingdom
Due to new weapon fusing and durability game mechanics in TOTK, there are no longer any weapons provided by specific amiibo scans, such as the Sword of the Six Sages which players were able to get by scanning the Ganondorf amiibo in BOTW. Also, many players will be disappointed to know that in TOTK there will be no capability to access the Wolf Link companion which could be accomplished by scanning the Wolf Link/Mipha amiibo in BOTW. This was a favorite feature for many and will be greatly missed in Tears of the Kingdom, unless there is a later patch or feature added to the game for him.
Here is a list of every known reward given by scanning amiibo figures in TOTK:

Many Nintendo fans enjoy collecting amiibo figurines, sometimes even just to be able to display them as cheerful artistic figures, but when games truly make use of the amiibo features it can take that collection to the next level. In BOTW there were many benefits to having the amiibo, especially with Wolf Link and Epona, and now in TOTK, there is a heavy focus on creativity in the game which makes the customizing themed rewards more fitting. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gives players many ways to stretch the limits of their imaginations in fusing weapons and crafting vehicles, so the cosmetics and customization from the amiibo figures feel like a natural extension of that.
