With the remastered version of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD arriving on the scene, that also means familiar bosses are coming back like Koloktos. This Ancient Automaton can pack quite the wallop and feels quite intimidating but is very beatable. Koloktos has a few standard attacks and formations that are easily avoidable with the right tactics. It might be the defender of the Ancient Cistern, which has some Buddist themes, but Koloktos is out to beat Link, so be ready to move.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is the first in the timeline of the Legend of Zelda series. It tells the story of how the formation of Hyrule came and a period before Ganon appears in the timeline. Instead, it has villains such as Demise and Ghirahim appearing. After defeating Demise, he claims that the cycle of death and rebirth will continue along with Zelda and Link until he successfully conquers the world. This statement follows suit with the physical links between Ganon and Demise and the many games following up in the timeline.

How To Beat Koloktos in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD Giant Koloktos Sword

After Koloktos' formation, a large red orb in his midsection is very visible off the start. It does get covered up in various ways throughout the fight, though this shows Link that it is the main point of focus to get Koloktos down for the count. Run in and out of his area of attack until he reaches out with his arm. Don't get hit by the arm when he attacks, and get ready to use the whip on them to remove the arms from its body.

Continue removing the other three arms that don't have the blades on them, allowing his middle section to reveal itself. When the red orb is in full view, get in as many blade swings as possible until the two blade arms cover the red sphere again. Repeat this process a second time, and Koloktos will rise out from the ground, sporting a pair of legs and a cage over the red sphere. At this point, Koloktos will also have swords in each hand, creating an even more significant threat. Use the same tactic on the previous arms of running in close, retreating, and rip off an arm with the whip after the imminent attack. In this part, it's a little different where Link can pick up one of Koloktos' swords.

Take the sword and slice Koloktos' legs. Going after the legs will force Koloktos to open his middle section with the red orb and allowing Link to crush it with powerful sword attacks. Repeat the process a few times and disregard the extra enemies in the room when Koloktos spawns them. Those additional enemies are very slow and pull the focus away from the fight. The attack that Koloktos uses will kill them as well. Keep working on getting the sword and going after Koloktos' legs and chest, which will soon end the battle.
