The legendary Master Sword is one of the most sought-after weapons in all of Hyrule, but one Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild player was able to make off with it using a single bundle of wood. As is the case with any other installment of Nintendo's long-running adventure franchise, Link can gain access to the iconic Master Sword in his quest to save Hyrule from the evil Calamity Ganon, with BOTW’s version being particularly noteworthy as it doesn’t break after too many uses like the game’s other weapons - though it will need to recharge after a certain number of strikes.

However, actually acquiring the legendary blade in Breath Of The Wild is a difficult process, with the player required to have 13 Heart Containers before they can pull the Master Sword from its resting place - which requires Link to either face off against the powerful Divine Beasts or trade Spirit Orbs from the Shrines. This naturally takes some time, but one player recently figured out a simple shortcut to nab that all-powerful weapon early.

Reddit user RinHara5aki posted a brief gameplay video to the BreathOfTheWild subreddit earlier today, revealing a neat trick to gaining control of the Master Sword early. The player heads to the sword's shrine at the center of the Lost Woods, selects a bundle of wood from their inventory and starts a small campfire with a flaming arrow. They then choose to sit in front of it until the next morning, and then the Master Sword is automatically added to their arsenal.

Players have uncovered several tricks and secrets within Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s vast open world. According to these discoveries, Link can either ride barrels or use them for stealth, break walls without bombs, or even open one of the game's seemingly impossible chests (treasure chests which were placed outside of the normally accessible map) with the help of glitches and his Magnesis ability. Not every tidbit is a good one though, as it turns out that the sneaky Yiga Clan can even steal the Master Sword itself if players aren’t careful.

While using a glitch to steal the Master Sword won’t exactly earn a would-be hero the Triforce Of Courage, its interesting to see just how many secrets fans are uncovering in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild even a good four years after it first launched on the Nintendo Switch. Thankfully Ganon never discovered that the all-powerful blade could be taken by simply camping out for the night, or Hyrule would have been in for some dark times indeed.
