Zelda Breath of the Wild's Hyrule Castle is one of the most heavily guarded places in all the land. Here are ways to enter the final area in the game. Zelda Breath of the Wild was a new and innovative turn for the Zelda series to take. Games would be linear in its gameplay and plot progression, meaning players would go to a set amount of dungeons in one order and play through the game until the very end. In Zelda Breath of the Wild, players can go wherever they want, whenever they want, giving a new element of gameplay that was foreign to the Zelda franchise for a very long time. The series has always prided itself on exploring a massive land full of unique characters and puzzles for players' to solve. Normally in the Zelda franchise, Hyrule is full of life and towns to visit. Even in games outside of Hyrule like Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Link would travel across massive landscapes to towns full of life and character. In Zelda Breath of The Wild, Hyrule has been destroyed by Calamity Ganon, leaving behind ruin and death. Very few towns exist in this new Hyrule and the purpose of this incarnation of Link is to destroy Calamity Ganon and restore peace back to Hyrule. Hyrule Castle is the final area in the game and this guide will help players make there way in.

Hyrule Castle has been a symbol of the Zelda Universe as where the royal family has lived their lives for generations. In Zelda Breath of The Wild, the entire castle has been reduced to ruin. This is where the player will need to go in order to defeat Calamity Ganon, but that is not an easy task. Hyrule Castle is surrounded by Ancient Guards ready to attack anyone who comes close to the castle. These are amongst the hardest enemies in the game if the player does not know what it takes to defeat them. At the start of the game, the player is tasked with freeing all 4 Divine Beast to make the battle easier against Calamity Ganon much easier. Although, if players are willing to challenge themselves, they can start the game and head straight for Hyrule Castle without any items, health upgrades, or armor. The closer the player gets to Hyrule Castle, the more the land is trying to kill them. It's not recommended to go about it this way, as this is for the more hardcore Zelda player. This guide will help players who have at least made their way through all 4 Divine Beast before approaching Hyrule Castle, as the Divine Beast provide special abilities to make entering the castle easier. This is how to enter Hyrule Castle in Zelda Breath of The Wild.

Entering Hyrule Castle in Zelda Breath of the Wild

The first thing to prepare for this trip would be collecting the Master Sword. The Master Sword does double damage against enemies in this castle. It can be found in the northern regions of Hyrule within the Lost Woods. The player must navigate through the woods to its center to find the sword. Unlike other items, the Master Sword does not break. Rather, it will need to be recharged when used too much. Next is to purchase Ancient Arrows from the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. These arrows can one-shot Guardian enemies, but are not cheap to produce. Only use this item in a worst-case scenario. Lastly, make sure to bring a horse. One option to enter the castle is to just run as quickly as possible. Avoid fighting any enemies and make way towards the center of the castle. Once inside, plan accordingly for your next move. Make sure the horse has a high stat in speed. Getting caught out there with a slow horse is a sign of imminent death.

Another method of entering the castle would be going through the high ground. Find the hill closest to Hyrule Castle with the highest altitude and use Ravali's Gale ability to glide in towards the castle. When gliding into the castle, Guardians will continue to try and take shots at Link. Wait until the lasers stop appearing on Link and drop altitude slightly to avoid being hit. Since the Glider takes stamina, avoid falling into the moat. Running out of stamina will cause Link to drawn and have to start the entire trip over again.

Lastly, players can attempt to battle the Guardians. In order to defeat them, players can use the Ancient Arrows but this is only recommended when the player is being overwhelmed (which is very possible in this situation). To defeat a Guardian, get in close and slash at its legs to cut them off. The Guardians' main method of attack is the laser. If the player is feeling confident, they can perfectly time and deflect the laser back at the Guardian. This does a massive amount of damage, but might be difficult to pull off when multiple Guardians are aiming at Link. Once all the Guardians are eliminated, gracefully walk into Hyrule Castle with a badge of honor.

Zelda Breath of The Wild is one of the best Zelda games to release in the modern era. It's still one of the highest-selling Nintendo Switch games and is planned for a sequel in the future. The sequel is still currently surrounded in mystery as what it is about, but it seems like Zelda's character will be developed more. The Zelda franchise jumps around different iterations and very few times in the series history have Links been reused for sequels. The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask pulls from the Link from Ocarina of Time and the Link from Wind Waker is carried over into Phantom Hourglass. Aside from this, the majority of Zelda games introduced a new Link with different supporting characters. Breath of the Wild marks another entry using the same characters as its previous entry. This makes perfect sense as Nintendo capitalizes on the success of one of their biggest franchises.
