A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player posted a video showing that a Guardian can't hit them during a fight in a Major Test Of Strength Shrine. In Nintendo's 2017 game, players can complete the challenges found in different shrines in order to receive rewards they can use to increase their health and stamina. In the Test of Strength Shrines, players battle Guardians, one of the deadliest antagonists in the game. The Major Test of Strength Shrines are among the hardest to complete because the Guardians the player fight are so strong.

Despite the work that goes into making a video game like Breath of the Wild, glitches are almost always found. Though they're generally rare, Breath of the Wild has several glitches of its own. Some of these glitches are amusing, like wild horses running underground. Others are frustrating and work unfairly against the player. For example, one glitch had Link spontaneously catch on fire whenever he swam under water. When this happened, the water would burn at the character with flames and smoke engulfing his body. However, other glitches can actually be helpful, as is the case with this new-found glitch.

Reddit user GoodCatLostAccAgain posted a video to the Breath of the Wild subreddit page showcasing a glitch where a Guardian in a Major Test of Strength Shrine has trouble hitting them. This detrimental Guardian glitch is almost as satisfying as the glitch that sent a Guardian flying completely off of the map. After the cutscene in GoodCatLostAccAgain's video of the Guardian emerging, the deadly foe is seen moving towards Link. Though the Guardian fires and directly hits the player, no damage takes effect. The Guardian then swings its sword several times at Link, but misses him by a long shot. Finally, the Guardian jumps back, readying itself to do its dreaded spinning attack move. Fortunately for Link, the Guardian hits a pillar and hurts itself in the process.

As the video ends right after the Guardian hurts itself, it's unclear whether GoodCatLostAccAgain was able to emerge the victor. But considering how well the fight started for the player, it's not unlikely that GoodCatLostAccAgain was able to beat their opponent. Perhaps, as GoodCatLostACCAgain says, the Guardian was just having a bad day.

Thanks to amusing glitches like these, as well as BOTW's many hidden secrets, the video game remains highly popular. Despite being four years old, fans continue to replay the title and uncover hidden places and interactions that they may have missed when first playing the game. Until the sequel comes out, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's replayability remains appreciated.
