A newly-found glitch in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild manages to be both frightening and funny at the same time. The clip shows a Guardian - already quite an unsettling encounter- having its legs extended rather disturbingly. However, the glitch itself seems to be harmless and has no negative effect on the game.

Since launching in 2017, Breath of the Wild has had its fair share of glitches pop up. This isn't uncommon for games with wider scales and scopes. For the most part, these Legend of Zelda glitches are fairly innocuous; things like texture issues, for example. Glitches are also a frequent tool in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speed runs, particularly ones that allow Link to leave the Great Plateau without completing the tutorial.

This new glitch was posted to Reddit by user Bl4ckm4rs (via Destructoid). In it, they use the Stasis+ rune to launch a metal crate at a dormant Guardian. Link approaches the Guardian just before the crate launches, causing it to wake up. When the crate makes an impact, the Guardian goes flying - except for the legs. Those remain on the ground, extending to account for the sudden change in velocity. The result is what Bl4ckm4rs calls "spaghetti legs."

In the comments, Bl4ckm4rs went over how the glitch was pulled off. The Breath of the Wild Guardian itself is located between the Wasteland Tower and South Lomei Labyrinth. The closest metal crate, however, is all the way by Wasteland Tower. The crate must be moved from the Tower to the Guardian. This is made exceptionally difficult by the cliff that must be traversed without losing the crate. However, there may be other locations on the map where the glitch is possible to pull off.

The clip has gotten nearly 18k upvotes at the time of this writing. It also has over 200 comments. Most comments acknowledge how unnatural the Guardian looks. The general consensus is that it's extremely comedic, but, like many things in the Zelda universe, also horrifying. One person suggested it could be shared to another subreddit, r/oddlyterrifying. Naturally, comparisons to the Eminem song "Lose Yourself" were also made, due to the song's usage of the word "spaghetti."

Finding a new glitch in a game is always exciting, even if it's something that ultimately doesn't affect gameplay. Those who want to try it for themselves shouldn't have to worry about it being patched out, either, as the bug appears to caused by BOTW's physics engine itself. For what it's worth, the inclusion of spaghetti-legged Guardians in the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel could add to the game's already eerie ambiance.
