Fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are understandably anxious to get their hands on Breath of the Wild 2, but one Redditor just couldn’t wait any longer. Since its recent trailer at E3, Breath of the Wild 2 has received tons of chatter, including speculation, theories, rumors, and general support for the project.

Unfortunately, knowledge of the game is limited, as Nintendo has kept its cards close to its chest. So far, Nintendo has mainly used its E3 presentations to communicate information about the game to its fans, and even that hasn’t been particularly plentiful. This has led to an endless amount of pausing and replaying the trailers that have been released so far. However, Nintendo has been careful not to release too much about the game. Even the official name of the game is unknown by the public in order to avoid spoilers.

In the time since E3, it’s been up to the gaming community to try and decipher what the sequel to Breath of the Wild will actually be like. However, rather than speculate, a Reddit user and software engineer, AvatarNick, has decided to create Breath of the Wild 2 rather than wait on Nintendo. Pulling inspiration from the Breath of the Wild sequel trailers, AvatarNick built many aspects of the game using Blender and Unity, including Link’s new arm, the Bokoblins’ stone talus, and the instantly iconic sequence of Link falling through the air.

However, one of the most impressive parts of the Breath of the Wild 2 fan game is the boss battle with Ganondorf at the end. AvatarNick managed to design a battle with multiple stages that increase in difficulty and contain many different layers of complexity. In a YouTube video, AvatarNick shows off the design of the boss battle, particularly Ganon’s abilities, including two different types of attacks, one of which must be deflected back at him in order to break his shield. Some theories state Ganon will be playable in Breath of the Wild 2, but AvatarNick apparently doesn’t subscribe to this idea.

As the release of Breath of the Wild 2 gets closer, the focus will gradually be shifting from The Legend of Zelda’s past to its future. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was deemed one of the best games in recent memory, and many believe that it has redefined the open-world video game genre entirely. A game this revolutionary is going to be very hard for the developers at Nintendo to follow up on.

But expectations seem to be high, and Nintendo appears to be dedicated to meeting fans' hopes and giving them plenty to think about during the lead-up to the new game. Breath of the Wild players are still gradually discovering (-->)new details in the first game (<-- link to "Breath Of The Wild Player Discovers Adorable Sheep Detail"), and they already have the second game to theorize about as well. The Breath of the Wild sequel is already generating a lot of buzz and remarkable fan content, and this will surely only ramp up when the game is actually released.
