The vast land of Hyrule contains all kinds of jaw-dropping locations, including a sunny hillside in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild that looks like it was pulled straight from a Windows XP wallpaper. Players have spotted a number of tricks and hidden Easter Eggs within Nintendo’s most recent Legend of Zelda title, which features a large open world in the tradition of Zelda entries of old.

One eagle-eyed Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild player spotted A Link To The Past’s Crest of the Sheikah on one of the game’s many Sheikah towers, while others have taken note of how Link can watch the four Divine Beasts from the roof of his house. Fans have even made fun discoveries about Link being able to ride barrels, or marveled at Breath Of The Wild’s beautiful day and night cycles. Indeed, the game looks great enough to put on a desktop - or at least be compared to a desktop image.

Yesterday, Reddit user tallguy249 posted a screenshot of a hillside they found in the open-world Zelda game to the r/Breath_of_the_Wild subreddit, noting that it looks just like a common desktop wallpaper from Windows 95 - or Windows XP, as one commenter pointed out. In another comment, tallguy249 explains that this hill can be found in the east “past the Faron Bridge, it's where the double rock circles are up the hill.” Sure enough, the location bears a striking resemblance to the iconic “Bliss” XP wallpaper.

Zelda fans are still buzzing about the Breath Of The Wild sequel, which finally had gameplay shown off at this year’s E3 after two years of speculation. Not much is known about the new game yet, as even its title is being kept under wraps to avoid spoilers. Still, that hasn’t stopped players from coming up with their own theories about Breath Of The Wild 2, including one where the game stars longtime villain Ganon on his path to becoming the dark scourge of Hyrule that Link and Zelda have battled in the past.

A grassy hillside view is a fairly common stock image, but u/tallguy249’s screenshot from The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild does look remarkably similar to the Windows XP wallpaper that many PC owners saw when they first booted up their computers in the mid-2000s. It’s just another little fun detail in the world of Breath Of The Wild, a game as vast as the mythical world of Hyrule that it’s set in.
