In yet another impressive gameplay trick, a Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild player recently sent a Guardian soaring into the air with a well-placed Cryonis Rune. Nintendo’s open-world, dungeon-crawling RPG has seen players pull off eye-catching in-game feats, from acquiring the Master Sword with a simple campfire to finding a new way to scale BotW's Sheikah Towers. Even Link’s enemies have found themselves swept up in Breath Of The Wild players’ hijinks, as Link has been seen tricking the thieving Yiga Clan into stealing from themselves and teaching Lizaflos how to play soccer with remote bombs.

Many of these Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild tricks involve the use of Link’s mystical Runes, which grant him a multitude of different abilities like freezing objects in their tracks with Stasis or calling forth pillars of ice with Cryonis. Aside from their expected uses in helping Link on his quest to save the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Calamity Ganon, these runes can be the source of an endless stream of entertainment when used creatively - like when a Breath Of The Wild player used Magnesis to escape a Guardian’s laser trap or another imprisoned a hulking Lynel with a makeshift Cryonis prison.

Reddit user allfour4 recently shared another creative use for The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s Cryonis Rune, with a brief clip of Link using an ice pillar to send a Guardian careening into the sky like Pokémon’s infamous Team Rocket trio. To do this, Link summons a Cryonis pillar right beneath the beast’s octopus-like legs, launching it into the stratosphere and sending it crashing down on a cliffside a great distance away. Allfour4 even activates Link’s slow-motion bow aiming vision to show the Guardian tumbling into the air to any impressed players in the comment section - who have been quick to note the irony of such a fearsome creature being taken down in such a comical manner.

As fans continue to come up with new and creative tricks and side activities in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Nintendo has been hinting about the next chapter of Link’s journey as the legendary hero of Hyrule. After much speculation, the tentatively-titled Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 was officially confirmed for release in 2022 during last summer’s E3 2021 livestream. Details about this new Zelda title are still scarce, but fans have been speculating about BOTW2’s plot and antagonist, with some even believing that BotW 2 could include multiple main villains instead of the usual threat of Ganon.

In the meantime, it seems Link has found a new and comical way of dealing with the hulking Guardians he comes across in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. These creatures are usually made out to be a dangerous force to be reckoned with, so it’s hilariously ironic to see one being launched into the air like a cartoon character with some strategic Rune power.
