A YouTuber has discovered a glitch in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that allows the Goron Champion to follow Link through Hyrule. Breath of the Wild is no stranger to glitches, some of which were purposefully left in the game in order to make it more enjoyable for players. Glitches range from the fairly mundane, such as a way to enable first-person gameplay and a way to make the game's Guardian enemies more friendly, to the strange, like a way to duplicate items like spirit orbs and Korok seeds.

The large, bulky creatures known as Gorons normally live in Goron City, located near Death Mountain in Hyrule, one of several common Legend of Zelda races. They are friendly to Link, giving him tasks and helping him on his quest to defeat Ganon. One such quest involves a Goron named Yunobo, who eventually helps Link defeat the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. During Link's time at Death Mountain, Yunobo briefly follows the player around. Ordinarily, if the player attempts to leave the Death Mountain vicinity, Yunobo won't follow them.

However, a glitch has been found that makes Yunobo follow the player anywhere in Hyrule, even outside of Death Mountain and Goron City. YouTuber ThornyFox demonstrated the glitch and explained how to make it work. The player must be at the point in the Vah Rudania quest where the Bridge of Eldin has been lowered and the Divine Beast is about to be driven into the crater. At this point, the player would normally talk to Yunobo, but to make the glitch work, the player must move him about halfway down the road he's standing on. This can be done by picking up something large and metal, like a mine cart, with Link's magnetism ability and pushing it into Yunobo. Once the Goron reaches that point, the player just needs to talk to him to activate the follow. Normally, Yunobo would normally only follow the player to the Bridge of Eldin, but because he's been pushed outside of his range, he'll now follow Link anywhere in Hyrule.

This is one of the easier The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild glitches to pull off, and it doesn't permanently change the player's game or grant additional resources - it's simply for fun. It's possible that this is one of the glitches that the developers at Nintendo left in the game simply because they made it more fun. Running through Hyrule with a Goron chasing Link is certainly an interesting way to travel.

This is simply the most recent of many glitches found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which isn't unusual for a game of its size and scope. Even though the game has been out for over four years now, players are still finding new details in Breath of the Wild as they continue to explore Hyrule and push the game's boundaries. Hopefully players like ThornyFox will continue finding these strange tricks and exploits, because they're a lot of fun to watch.
