In the four years since its launch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has inspired a number of other video games, including Immortals Fenyx Rising and Genshin Impact. The Nintendo Switch launch title shook up open-world gaming with its freeform climbing mechanics and engaging physics system. Just as other game developers have taken a page out of BOTW's design book, Breath of the Wild 2 would benefit from incorporating an item from Nintendo's own Majora's Mask.

Breath of the Wild's biggest draw is the massive world of Hyrule. From towering peaks to harsh deserts, there's enough to see and explore that players can feasibly play for hundreds of hours and still discover new things. That said, a world that large can be difficult to navigate. Paragliding and horseback riding helps a fair amount, but eventually, players will find themselves with no choice but to abandon those methods in favor of Link's natural movement speed.

Luckily, Breath of the Wild borrowed Skyward Sword's sprinting mechanic. This removes the need to roll around in order to move quickly, but players have to manage a stamina gauge while running. It's an understandable limitation, preventing players from endlessly running across the world at top speed, but it can be disheartening to see Link pant frantically for a few seconds when players meant for him to bolt forward. Breath of the Wild 2 should introduce an item to make both Link's sprint and standard jog speeds a bit more impressive.

Why Breath Of The Wild 2 Should Include The Bunny Hood

The Bunny Hood Should Be In Breath Of The Wild 2

With no sprinting mechanic in sight, Majora's Mask required players to run around its large map with a sluggish movement speed, but it featured multiple forms of faster travel. The Bunny Hood, for one, turned Link's light jog into a full-blown hustle. Breath of the Wild has many armor pieces that grant Link passive abilities, so a Bunny Hood that dramatically improves his run speed would double as both a fantastic quality-of-life improvement and a nod to a fan-favorite Zelda title.

Of course, Breath of the Wild's stat-boosting items already include some that offer speed bonuses - the full Sheikah and Dark Link armor sets and the Hasty Elixir potions. The latter is only temporary, however, and the former only apply their buffs at night. The full armor sets also prevent players from stacking the speed boost with benefits from other armors, such as the extra damage of the Barbarian set. If Breath of the Wild 2 added the Bunny Hood, it could provide a constant buff at all times and allow players to mix and match their gear. It may not be the most pressing feature for the sequel to include, but it would be an enjoyable reference to the series' past that could also have a strong impact on gameplay.
