A skilled artist has created an anatomically-correct illustration of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time's Ganondorf for a college art course. While Ganon first made his appearance in the 1986 NES title, The Legend of Zelda, and was introduced as the Hero of Time's ultimate foe, it wasn't until Ocarina of Time's release in 1998 that Ganondorf made an appearance as the humanoid form of Ganon and was also introduced as the king of the infamous Gerudo thieves.

Ocarina of Time was a landmark title for Nintendo and is still often regarded by fans of the franchise as the best Legend of Zelda title as well as a pioneer title for future 3D games. It is special not only due to its groundbreaking graphics and gameplay, but also for its epic storyline and expertly crafted characters. The motives of the three main characters, Link, Zelda, and Ganon/Ganondorf, gained more gravity and meaning behind them and the franchise's epic storyline has grown exponentially since the first Legend of Zelda's release.

A talented artist, Matt Leese, known as livingparadox87 on Reddit, has created a unique, yet slightly disturbing, illustration of Ganondorf that could feature within Anatomy textbooks. Although it was Redditor SuperLuigi34 who posted the artwork, livingparadox87 replied and wrote along with their illustration, "For anyone wondering, I'm the artist and this was done as a skeletal and muscular study for my 'Anatomy for Artists' course in college." In their illustration, Ganondorf is displayed with large, domineering muscles, and certainly looks like a force Link would be hesitant to fight against. One Redditor, demotecontrol, comedically replied saying, "Rehydrated Ganondorf(Skinned)." referring to Ganondorf's zombie-like appearance that has featured in the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer.

The Legend of Zelda's Sinister Ganondorf Revealed

Ganondorf's mysterious background leaves much to the imagination for fans and has inspired many writers and artists, such as livingparadox87, to create their own stories and version of this epic villain. While Link has always featured as the Hero of Time in The Legend of Zelda franchise, Ganon/Ganondorf has not appeared within all the franchise's games, such as Link's Awakening. Fans of the franchise have always known him as Link's arch-nemesis, tyrant of Hyrule, and the holder of the Triforce of Power.

Despite its release being over two decades ago, fans return to Ocarina of Time over and over again, eager to explore the field of Hyrule and once again rescue Princess Zelda from the villainous Ganondorf. Although players of the franchise will have to wait til the Spring of 2023 to play the eagerly awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild, they are all hoping for more of the epic gameplay they have come to expect from the Legend of Zelda titles, as well as hopefully more answers behind the franchise's main characters.
