What Is Zack Snyder's Guardians Of Ga'Hoole?

If you're like me, you're probably scratching your head, asking, what is this project about?  Well, Guardians is based on a series of childrens books by author Kathryn Lasky.  The first book stars a barn owl named Soren, and is about how he and his friends must deal with an evil force that invades their home in the Tyto Forest.  Find out more about the books over at Scholastic.

Sounds like an interesting premise, and I think it's cool that Snyder is expanding his scope beyond horror movies and comic book adaptations (all R-rated flicks).  With voice talent that includes Wolverine and Agent Smith (aka, Hugh Jackman and Hugo Weaving, respectively), you know they're going for the big guns.

Warner Bros. is distributing the film, and it looks like Animal Logic, the company behind the awful message movie, Happy Feet, is producing it.  The film opens July 30, 2010, and let's hope that Watchmen doesn't open then, too.  (Read about the legal issues here.)

So what do you think?  Are you pumped for an animated, likely G- or PG-rated Zack Snyder film?  I just hope it's better than Happy Feet... I saw that with my niece (at the time, only a year old), and I wanted to burn the DVD.
