Moving forward, with theaters' safety status still questionable, Zack Snyder might end up with the next two big blockbusters to actually release. 2020 has been a hard year for Hollywood, as it has been for society at large. The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted life in many countries, and for various political reasons, the U.S. has been hit particularly hard, seeing cases of the virus surge while lots of other first world nations seem to be getting things under control. Regardless of why this is happening, it's hard for Hollywood to function without its largest market.

Warner Bros.' Tenet is soon to embark on an unorthodox strategy of basically releasing wherever it can do so safely, starting overseas, then coming back to select areas of the U.S. If one thing's clear, it's that business as usual for the movie industry might not return for a long time, if ever, especially with major theater chains facing potential closure over not being able to safely reopen for such an extended period.

In this changing movie landscape, where so many of 2020's biggest movies have run screaming into 2021, streaming is set to become even more important. Enter Zack Snyder, who has not one but two potential blockbuster smash hits coming to major streaming platforms in 2021.

Zack Snyder Might Have the Next TWO Biggest Blockbuster Releases

Justice League Henry Cavill Superman Black Suit

While there are still a few blockbusters set for release in 2020, including Wonder Woman 1984 and Black Widow, at this point the chances don't look great for them to actually release this year. If they do, and don't get pushed to 2021, they'll likely have to employ Tenet's segmented release plan in the U.S. Army of the Dead, Zack Snyder's zombie heist film, has been done filming since 2019. It's not known if post-production has been completed, but it could very well be, or at least be nearing the finish line. A winter 2020 release on Netflix was previously floated, and if that happens, or even if it gets pushed into early 2021, Army of the Dead could be a huge crossover hit, available to everyone at once.

Then there's the Snyder Cut of Justice League, officially dubbed Zack Snyder's Justice League. Fans fought for years to make this happen, and it's finally coming to HBO Max in 2021. There's almost no way to imagine the Snyder Cut not breaking streaming records and driving HBO Max subscriptions up, thanks to both diehard supporters and those just curious to see what all the fuss has been about. So that gives Snyder two potentially huge movies, both entirely outside of the troubled theatrical release model, and both set to likely release in the relatively near term. Not bad for a director who hasn't (really) helmed a new film since 2016.
