Zach Snyder will be hosting his own watch party for his Justice League director’s cut when it releases on HBO Max. The Snyder Cut has been highly requested and anticipated by fans for years, ever since the original film released in theaters in 2017 to dismal reviews. Snyder’s four-hour version is finally on its way to HBO Max after extensive online campaigning, and the fans who helped get it there will have a chance to watch along with Snyder himself.

The Snyder Cut will feature some reedits of scenes from the Justice League theatrical cut, lots of previously unseen content that was cut after Snyder left the project, and some brand-new scenes specifically shot for the HBO Max release. That last category includes an appearance by Jared Leto’s Joker, who wasn’t planned to feature in the original film. Snyder has said that it was important to him to bring Leto’s Joker and Ben Affleck’s Batman together, especially since they may not have opportunity otherwise.

It’s now been announced that Snyder himself and some special guests will be doing a watch party for Zack Snyder’s Justice League in partnership with Scener. The watch party will take place on March 18, the day the Snyder Cut drops on HBO Max, at 7pm EDT (4pm PDT). The event will include a Q&A with Snyder beforehand. Fans can RSVP via Scener, though an HBO Max account will be necessary to properly participate.

Throughout the production process on the Justice League reshoots and reedits, Snyder has been very open about what’s being added and what viewers can expect. He’s regularly shared information on the project via his Vero account, explaining new characters, scenes, and plotlines. Some major portions of the Snyder Cut, such as the Knightmare sequence and Darkseid’s backstory on planet Apokolips, were either fully absent or severely cut down in the theatrical release, so it should be exciting for fans to finally see all the pieces come together.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will also include cameos by some new heroes, such as Martian Manhunter and a member of the Green Lantern Corps. A special surprise Justice League hero has been teased for the end of the film as well, sparking much speculation. Via the watch party, Snyder will be able to offer some of his own creative insights to viewers in real-time. Zack Snyder’s Justice League releases for streaming on HBO Max on March 18.
