Director Zack Snyder shares his playlist of movies and TV shows viewers should check out after Zack Snyder's Justice League. The new version of the movie released on March 18 after a years-long fan campaign. Snyder's cut of the film stemmed from Joss Whedon joining the original 2017 Justice League ahead of its debut. Whedon contributed to rewrites and reshoots on the movie, drastically altering it in the process. The Justice League Snyder Cut represents Snyder's initial vision for the film, with the vast majority of it shot during the original production.

Thus far, the consensus seems to be Snyder's version is an improvement over the theatrical, with Cyborg and The Flash both receiving more substantial story arcs. Zack Snyder's Justice League has received some criticism for its length (over four hours), but it does feature a more complete narrative as a result. Leading up to and following the movie's debut, Snyder has discussed it frequently, even teasing what would have happened in Justice League 2 and Justice League 3. Though those sequels never came to fruition, Snyder does have some suggestions for what audiences should watch after finishing his cut of Justice League.

Snyder's full playlist (featured in-app on HBO Max) includes the movies Blade Runner: The Final Cut, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Dunkirk. On the TV side, the director's included True Detective and Rick and Morty. HBO Max also shared a video of Snyder discussing some of his picks, like The Matrix and Seven Samurai. Take a look below:

Though none of Snyder's choices directly correlate to Justice League, they do reflect his influences as a director. Many of the movies chosen feature intense action sequences like those seen in the Snyder Cut. Additionally, Seven Samurai is a black-and-white film. Many of the images Snyder released ahead of Justice League were in black-and-white, and it factored heavily into the movie's marketing. There will even be a full black-and-white version of the film releasing on HBO Max titled Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice is Gray.

Many of the movies chosen also contain similar themes to the Snyder Cut, with a team of some kind going up against an all-powerful force. It makes sense Snyder sees them as good viewing companions for Justice League. After waiting so long for Snyder's version of the film, those who were a part of the campaign for the cut's release are likely looking for something new to watch. This curated playlist from Snyder could be just the thing.
