Zack Snyder reveals a new scene from the Snyder Cut of Justice League with Darkseid appearing in the history lesson. Despite hitting theaters over a year ago, Warner Bros.' disappointing team-up movie is still a regular part of movie discussion. However, most of the talk revolves around what could've been if director Zack Snyder was able to complete his vision of the film. Even though his very first script was rewritten before production even began, Snyder did complete production on his version of Justice League - before he walked away from the project.

The result of this decision was Joss Whedon taking over the movie and drastically changing several aspects of it. Many have since become fascinated by what Snyder would've delivered instead if his cut was released, and has resulted in the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement that continues to this day. While the director says the Snyder Cut exists, whether or not it is released is a different question. Snyder and others have been a steady source of information on the state of the alternate version of Justice League.

One of the many points of focus for fans has been the role that Darkseid would've had in Snyder's cut of Justice League. The god-like villain was never going to be the main villain of the piece, but he was going to have a more significant role than many previously believed. In Snyder's latest Vero post (pictured below), he has given us a glimpse at what could've been. The image depicts the first look at a younger Darkseid being involved with the history lesson sequence of the movie.

Zack Snyder Vero Darkseid Justice League History Lesson

There is a history lesson scene in the theatrical cut of Justice League, but it is clearly far different than the one Snyder shot and depicts here. In his cut of the film, Wonder Woman was going to discover a mural that would trigger the flashback sequence. This history lesson included a previous invasion of Earth led by a young Darkseid that would've had him fight Ares and many others. At this time, though, Darkseid was simply Uxas and had yet to achieve godhood.

However, those who have seen the theatrical cut of Justice League know Darkseid is absent from the movie. Steppenwolf was always going to be the main villain of the film, but Whedon and WB changed the movie, so he was the one leading this invasion of Earth instead. His appearance here would've been part of Darkseid's overall larger role in the Snyder Cut where Ray Porter did ADR for the future ruler of Apokolips. Instead, all of this was left on the cutting room floor and in Snyder's version of Justice League. With Snyder now sharing his first look at Darkseid in his movie, it could open the door for him to show even more of his role.
