The upcoming Army of the Dead prequel, Army of Thieves, is set to give fans a special sneak peek at this year’s Comic-Con@Home. Directed by and starring German actor Matthias Schweighöfer, the prequel to Zack Snyder’s zombie epic follows the story of Schweighöfer’s character Ludwig Dieter. Deborah Snyder, who is producing the prequel and her husband Zack, has described the film as "a romantic comedy, heist movie,” which occurs during the early days of the zombie outbreak.
While Zack Snyder just released an official look at the new film via his Twitter account, it seems that eager fans can expect to see a lot more at this month’s Comic-Con@Home. Amongst several new Netflix offerings, the official SDCC website has listed an Army of the Dead virtual panel on July 25th from 2:00-3:00 pm PT. When Snyder’s Army of the Dead was released in May this year, many fans latched onto Dieter’s safecracker as one of the film's highlights. Undoubtedly, those who enjoyed his eccentric antics in Snyder’s film will be keen to see what happened to the fan-favorite before he was caught up in the Vegas heist. While no official release date has yet been announced by Netflix, Army of Thieves is expected to hit the streaming service sometime later this year.
