Your Place or Mine is a charming new romantic comedy featuring two stars of some of the best examples of the genre, Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama) and Ashton Kutcher (No Strings Attached, What Happens in Vegas). At the helm and behind the script of the film is rom-com veteran Aline Brosh McKenna, the mind who gave us such classics of the genre as The Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses, and Morning Glory. Along with Witherspoon and Kutcher, the film has a powerhouse supporting cast including Steve Zahn (The White Lotus), Zoë Chao (Senior Year), Tig Notaro (Army of the Dead), Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Griffin Matthews (Dear White People). Your Place or Mine will be streaming on Netflix just in time for Valentine's Day, starting on February 10.

Debbie (Witherspoon) and Peter (Kutcher) have been friends for over a decade in Your Place or Mine, but they live very different lives and appear to be complete opposites. Debbie is a single mother who lives in Los Angeles, works as an accountant, and plans her entire life down to the nanosecond. Peter is a single aspiring writer who moonlights as a marketing assistant and goes through life in a whirlwind of different girlfriends and life-changing events. Circumstances unexpectedly throw them into a situation where they're forced to switch lives and locales, and they're both forced to face the reality that maybe the life they've been living isn't the one they should be. What To Expect From Your Place Or Mine

As part of Screen Rant's Winter Movie Preview, writer and director Aline Brosh McKenna provided Screen Rant with an exclusive glimpse at what audiences can expect from Your Place Or Mine.

Your Place or Mine is about finding love in literally unexpected places and about two people who are trying to get out of their own way to find what they deserve. I’m most excited for people to see Reese and Ashton’s performances. They light up the screen and will charm everyone’s pants off. Not literally. Figurative pants.

It's clear McKenna is excited for audiences to see the chemistry between her two stars, but she is eager to stress that romantic love isn't the only kind of love to be found in the film.

It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, not just because it’s a love story, but really because there’s a lot of different kinds of love in the movie,” she says. “There’s parental love, friend love, love for a city that you live in. There’s a warmth and a lovingness to the environment that’s created in the movie. [It] was a really fun place to go to every day, and to imagine these people who really treat each other with a lot of kindness and respect.

Netflix released a video of Witherspoon and Kucher for Your Place Or Mine as part of their Tudum event in September. In the video, the two stars give a glimpse of on-screen chemistry so strong it's compelling even through video chat. The big question they must address is this one: if they could star in a romantic comedy with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be? Witherspoon doesn't hesitate with her answer, as she suggests two of Hollywood's Biggest stars: Cary Grant and Tom Hanks. Kutcher gives an answer that should feel scripted but seems to be sincere, and confesses it would be Witherspoon herself.

After an extended hiatus, the rom-com genre is back, and Netflix are proving to be adept at capturing some of the biggest talent for their entries into the fray. Earlier this year, they premiered the well-received romantic comedy that served as Lindsay Lohan's comeback, Falling for Christmas. They're also home to another Ashton Kutcher lead film from 2011, No Strings Attached, co-starring Natalie Portman. If that doesn't do it for you, you can also visit Netflix to stream what is widely recognized to be one of the greatest rom-coms of all time, When Harry Met Sally, starring the queen of the genre, Meg Ryan, alongside comedy legend Billy Crystal.
