The reboot brings back characters from the original series and ties in characters from other Disney series as well. The main premise is the same in that Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Louie, and Dewey to live with his Uncle Scrooge who brings them all on adventures. Each character also has a distinct personality in this series.
Each character in the show is given a rich personality that allows them to be matched up with a Zodiac sign that also has distinct personality traits.
Aquarius: Scrooge McDuck
At the beginning of DuckTales, Scrooge is an incredibly independent character and only relies on himself to build his success. He's often uncompromising, usually wanting to have an adventure go his way, and pretty aloof by refusing to admit that his family means a lot to him. Scrooge has a lot of similar strengths and weaknesses with the Aquarius sign.
Pisces: Launchpad McQuack
Launchpad is a compassionate and gentle character who is fiercely loyal to his friends. He's lovably ignorant, but always tries his best given any situation even if he is overly trusting.
He might not always realize exactly what's going on, he's a character everyone can count on. Launchpad has a lot of similar traits with the Pisces sign.
Aries: Magica De Spell
Magica is determined to get revenge on Scrooge and will let nothing get in her way. She's also confident and courageous, willing to put herself in danger to get her revenge and never doubting that it will happen. She's impatient with Lena and typically has an aggressive demeanor with her and everyone else. A lot of her personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses align with Aries.
Taurus: Mrs. Beakley
Mrs. Beakley is always a reliable character on the show everyone turns to when they need help either around the house or in a pinch on an adventure. She's responsible and devoted to her granddaughter Webby and Scrooge's family. She can be stubborn and uncompromising, but to be fair she's typically the one who is right.
Gemini: Webby Vanderquack
Webby has grown up in Scrooge's mansion and been taught how to defend herself by her former spy Granny, Mrs. Beakley, so she can adapt to any situation and is able to learn quickly. She's extremely curious, especially about Scrooge's family, and affectionate when she does find friends in Huey, Louie, Dewey, and Lena. Webby has a lot of similar attributes to the Gemini Zodiac sign.
Cancer: Dewey Duck
Dewey is a highly imaginative duck who cares and feels things deeply throughout the series. He can be moody and suspicious at times with his brothers and when he feels that Scrooge and Donald are hiding things about their mom. He can go from being wildly confident to insecure as he's still trying to understand himself. Dewey has a lot of similar attributes to the Cancer Zodiac sign.
Leo: Louie Duck
Louie is a creative, humorous, and sarcastic character who is also cheerful especially as the show goes on. He begins as a pretty lazy and self-centered character who only cares about Scrooge's riches and watching television, but he begins to show he does truly care about his family and has fun on their adventures. He has a lot of similar personality traits to the Leo Zodiac sign.
Virgo: Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera
Fenton, aka Gizmoduck, is a kind, loyal, and hardworking scientist who wants to help anyone and everyone he can. He agrees to become Gizmoduck because he wants to help people and is constantly working at perfecting that invention and creating more inventions that help people. Fenton is pretty shy and overly critical of himself and has a lot in common with the Virgo sign.
Libra: Lena De Spell
Lena begins the series as a loner, but she becomes social when she meets Webby and eventually is accepted into her family. Lena avoids confronting her Aunt Magica as she plans to hurt her newfound friends, but eventually, she is able to with the help of Scrooge and the others.
Lena is a strong-willed person who isn't afraid to stand up for herself, and she also becomes a cooperative part of the team.
Scorpio: Donald Duck
Donald Duck is a brave and passionate duck that cares deeply for his family especially his three nephews. He is also secretive, keeping secrets from the triplets about their mother, his sister Della, and that they were related to Scrooge McDuck. He can become incredibly angry and violent, but thankfully it always used to protect his family.
Sagittarius: Della Duck
Della Duck was stuck on the moon for most of the show but now she has made her way back to her sons, brother Donald, and her Uncle Scrooge. She's generous with the moon people when she meets them and is idealistic as she trusts them and believes that she can make it back to Earth. Although she's an optimist, she can promise more than she can deliver and has had a difficult time adjusting to her life back on Earth. Della has a lot in common with the Sagittarius sign.
Capricorn: Huey Duck
Huey is a disciplined and responsible duck, definitely the most so out of the triplets. He also tends to be a know-it-all, especially when it comes to the Junior Woodchucks and he usually expects the worst when most of the other characters go with the flow. Huey has a lot of similar strengths and weaknesses with the Capricorn Zodiac sign.
