While she is pretending to be a 26-year-old to get her job at a publishing company, she also feels like she should still date someone "age-appropriate" a.k.a. a man in his 40s.
But after a terrible blind date with a man who fits that criteria, she realizes she'd rather see where things go with Josh. He may be a younger man, but their attraction to each other was already undeniable at this point. So Liza goes to his tattoo shop looking for him, and in a moment of complete confidence, strides up to him and kisses the life out of him. There were two instances where Josh took care of Liza when she was injured, dropping everything and being there for her. The first was a more minor injury, with Liza developing "frozen shoulder" which is something that happens to middle-aged people frequently.
It's painful and difficult to move when it happens, so Josh offered to not only help her when she needed it but even give her massages. Later, when Liza's clavicle gets cracked in an accident, Josh is right there beside her in the hospital. It's very romantic when your partner is there for you, literally in sickness and in health.

When Liza and Josh broke up, she introduced him to the Irish bartender Claire. She and Josh developed a whirlwind romance that led them to the altar sooner than later.
