Where can prequel series Young Sheldon be found online, and is available on Netflix, Hulu or Prime? The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular sitcoms of recent years and arrived on CBS back in 2007. The show was created by Chuck Lorre (Two And A Half Men) and followed a gang of very nerdy friends, including Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Penny (Kaley Cuoco), Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki). The series quickly became a ratings success and went on to run for twelve seasons becoming finally coming to an end in 2019.

The Big Bang Theory never received the level of acclaim that sitcoms like Frasier or Seinfeld reached during their run, but it still had a huge fanbase. The series got a lot of mileage from the main characters' nerdiness, and it never missed a chance to drop a pop culture reference or ten. This includes cameos from the likes of Star Wars icons Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, to Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Stan Lee.

The Big Bang Theory was still a solid performer in the ratings when it ended with season 12, which was largely down to star Jim Parsons wanting to move on to other projects. Of course, it's wise to keep a popular franchise going, with CBS launching a prequel show called Young Sheldon in 2017. The series follows the title character as an immensely gifted child genius - who struggles socially because of this. Iain Armitage plays young Sheldon while Parsons narrates the show as the older version.

Young Sheldon isn't currently available to watch on Netflix, Hulu or Prime in the U.S. Instead, all three seasons can be streamed on DirecTV, while two seasons are available on CBS and one season on fuboTV. It can also be purchased from outlets like Amazon, Google Play, iTunes and Vudu. For those looking to relive The Big Bang Theory, all twelve seasons can be found on HBO MAX and DirecTV, and the series can be also be purchased on iTunes, FandangoNOW and Vudu.

Young Sheldon has been warmly received by critics and is set to return for at least one more series. Season 4 should see some big changes as the title genius heads to college at East Texas Tech. While the next series was initially penciled to return in September 2020, production delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic means this date will likely be pushed back.
