Sadly, as Young Sheldon season 6's storytelling becomes more intense and intriguing as it slowly inches its end, its broadcasting schedule has become so much more irregular which is understandably frustrating to its loyal viewers.
Because of The Big Bang Theory's established canon, discussions have started about possibly ending Young Sheldon after season 7. In terms of narrative, this makes sense. That being said, given how popular the show is, CBS will likely want to keep it on the air for as long as possible. Before all that, however, the more pressing matter revolves around what's currently happening in Young Sheldon season 6 as Missy enters her rebellious phase while George and Mary's marriage crumbles.

Unfortunately, it will take a bit before viewers find out about what's next for Missy following her busted road trip with Paige. Young Sheldon season 6 episode 16 didn't really provide any resolution to her worsening narrative. The Big Bang Theory prequel is once again taking a break from its weekly programming, however. Now, Young Sheldon season 6, episode 17 isn't scheduled to air until April 13, 2023.
Why Is Young Sheldon On Another Break?
There have been a couple of reasons why Young Sheldon has been on several mini-breaks in 2023. For starters, CBS tends to spread out the show's programming during this time of the year to take advantage of the so-called sweeps weeks. Since the network also covers March Madness, prominent games tend to take over the family comedy's primetime slot. In this case, however, it's likely the former. CBS' broadcasting schedule says that they will re-run Young Sheldon season 6 episode 6 titled "An Ugly Car, an Affair and Some Kickass Football."
What To Expect From Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 17
CBS has yet to release any promotional material for Young Sheldon season 6 episode 17. That being said, the outing's title has been confirmed: "A German Folk Song and an Actual Adult." There are several narratives that can play out based on the title alone. The latter half could be about Georgie celebrating his birthday — a plot line that producers have previously said will play out towards the end of Young Sheldon season 6. Meanwhile, the first half of it is trickier to decipher. However, considering Sheldon's ties to Germany, it's likely that it's referring to a plotline that is centered on the character.
