A brand new Young Sheldon season 6 clip shows Mary, Missy, and Sheldon awkwardly returning to church. CBS' premiere comedy will be back on the airwaves in just a month, and with this, production for the upcoming year is currently in full swing. Based on where things left off in Young Sheldon season 5, expect that things will continue to be dramatic for the Coopers as they navigate their collective and respective individual woes.

Things have been hectic in the Cooper household ever since Georgie revealed his unexpected pregnancy news towards the end of Young Sheldon season 5. Aside from the primary issue, it has also spilled into other aspects of their lives. Mary, in particular, has been deeply affected by this. Of course, as Georgie's mother, she is concerned about what this means for him, but it also puts her marriage with George in jeopardy as they are forced to reminisce about their own surprise pregnancy. The situation also resulted in Pastor Jeff firing Mary from her job at the church as the rest of the congregation turned their backs on her and her family.

Despite this, the Coopers will still continue to go to church as seen in a new Young Sheldon season 6 video. Shared on Instagram by show producer Ansley Rix, the short clip shows the filming process of the scene. Watch it below:

From the looks of it, there doesn't seem to be any special occasion that draws the Coopers back to church. Instead, it seems like a typical Sunday service in Young Sheldon season 6. Given this, fans will wonder if Mary simply chose to join the congregation not long after its members essentially betrayed her. If it's really Mary's decision to go back to church after everything that happened, it's surprising that both Sheldon and Missy even joined her. The fact that she is willing to subject her kids to gossip highlights just how blinded she has already been by her faith.

With Mary no longer working in her church, she could actually slowly sever ties with it and focus on her new job and family. For what it's worth, this would be what George would want her to do, considering how Pastor Jeff treated her. But it appears that attending the service is solely her idea, so it's safe to say she doesn't have any intention of leaving. This also sets up Mary's continued relationship with Pastor Rob in Young Sheldon season 6, which will be fascinating to watch, considering their last inappropriate interaction with each other.
