Warning! Spoilers ahead for Young Sheldon season 6, episode 16. Sheldon and Amy's first ridiculous argument in The Big Bang Theory is finally resolved in Young Sheldon season 6. It has been almost four years since The Big Bang Theory wrapped up, with CBS keeping the popular franchise alive via the prequel series. Functioning more as an origins story for Sheldon, Young Sheldon explains some of the character's quirks and behaviors. Sometimes, however, it retroactively answers some of the questions left unanswered in The Big Bang Theory regarding the Pasadena gang.

Jim Parsons' older Sheldon narration allows CBS to reveal new information about how he and the rest of his friends are doing after The Big Bang Theory ended. That includes the status of his marriage. While Paige has somewhat ruined Sheldon and Amy's romance, Young Sheldon has made an effort to continue the couple's story beyond their Nobel Prize win. In other instances, however, it revisits the progression of their romance, including their first argument.

Young Sheldon Proves Amy’s Neuroscience Is Better Than Sheldon’s Theoretical Physics

In Young Sheldon's "A Stolen Truck and Going on a Lam," Sheldon attempts to predict where Missy is heading after she runs away from home. Sadly, his theory ends up being wrong, which not only disappoints him but also puzzles him. Wanting to understand where he went wrong, he keeps on bringing up the idea of scanning Missy's brain to analyze it. As a neuroscientist, this is one big aspect of Amy's job in The Big Bang Theory. This backs up her argument that her field is more important than Sheldon's theoretical physics because there's a practical use for it, which was the gist of their first dispute.

Several times in The Big Bang Theory, Amy tried convincing some of her friends to allow her to scan their brains. At one point, she even attempted to manipulate Sheldon into indulging her, but ultimately failed. Nonetheless, the fact that young Sheldon found a way to make Amy's field of study useful in his everyday life effectively proves her point that it's more important than theoretical physics. If anything, the same could be said about Howard's engineering degree, which Sheldon perpetually mocked.

Who Really Is Smarter In The Big Bang Theory: Sheldon or Amy?

The Big Bang Theory never really revealed Amy's IQ, but as far as Sheldon is concerned, his is 187, which is genius level as seen in Young Sheldon. Compared to everyone else in the Pasadena gang, he is believed to be the smartest. Despite this, however, Amy was more well-rounded than her husband. When she was introduced in The Big Bang Theory season 3, she was more of a mirror of Sheldon, but as she started hanging out with Penny and Bernadette over the years, she became more sociable and better adjusted, giving her different types of intelligence compared to Sheldon.

Young Sheldon season 6 airs Thursdays on CBS.
