The promo for Young Sheldon season 5, episode 3 sees Sheldon (Iain Armitage) correctly predicting his future in The Big Bang Theory. Moving forward with its overall narrative, the CBS sitcom takes a break from hinting at a potential affair between George (Lance Barber) and Brenda (Melissa Peterman) and focuses on a Cooper family problem. Ever since the Young Sheldon season 4 cliffhanging finale, fans have been preoccupied with the budding romance between the neighbors as it could ultimately explain grown-up Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) cheating story about his father.

Young Sheldon season 5, episode 2 only made things worse for Brenda and George. Despite their flirtatious back-and-forth at the local pub in the premiere, nothing actually happened between them as the Cooper patriarch had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering a mini heart attack. However, both feel extremely guilty for their inappropriate conversation, and it seems like the attraction between them is only getting stronger. Meemaw (Annie Potts) has recently become suspicious of the pair after Brenda reacted bizarrely when she asked about George's health scare the night that they were hanging out with each other.

While some viewers would be interested to find out what lies ahead for this particular plotline, Young Sheldon season 5, episode 3 may be shifting its focus to a different narrative. In the outing titled  "Potential Energy and Hooch on a Park Bench," Georgie (Montana Jordan) decides to drop out of school, believing that he doesn't need it to succeed. In the show's latest promo, Sheldon confidently tells his parents that they should "love and nurture you have that's destined for success," referring to himself. Watch it below:

Since Sheldon won the Nobel Prize in Physics at the end of The Big Bang Theory, the aforementioned video shows that his younger self is able to correctly predict what lies ahead for the character. Out of all the Cooper kids, he's the only one who's treading a traditional path when it comes to measuring levels of success. Missy eventually becomes a separated mother which disappointed Mary (Laurie Metcalf) and resulted in their constant bickering whenever they visited Sheldon in Pasadena. Georgie, on the other hand, beat all odds and became a great businessman. Despite this, Sheldon is still right in the clip, he's the only one destined for success at that point in time.

As hinted by this Young Sheldon season 5 promo, George and Brenda's burgeoning relationship takes the backseat in the sitcom. And after two outings of focusing on it, developing other narratives is a great way to keep fans intrigued and entertained. Based on the established timeline in The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon catching his dad having sexual relations with another woman won't happen until at least a couple of more years.
