A brand-new Young Sheldon season 5 trailer reveals the fallout from Georgie's (Montana Jordan) cliffhanger ending. Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) big brother's storylines have been eventful; now, it gets to be more chaotic after the show's recent development. As revealed in Young Sheldon's 100th episode ending, he accidentally impregnated his girlfriend.

Georgie decided that he didn't want to continue with school anymore since he isn't interested in academics or playing football. He planned on working full time, thinking of honing his entrepreneurial skills. Luckily, at the same time, Meemaw (Annie Potts) got her laundromat/gambling den. Since then, Georgie started helping with the venture. One day, while manning the business, Georgie came across Mandy (Emily Osment). They began dating, but Georgie had to lie about being 21 instead of 17 years old, because Mandy's almost 30. When he came clean in the latest Young Sheldon episode, she broke up with him. But it seems like they will continue to have ties moving forward.

While fans have to endure another week of Young Sheldon hiatus, they don't have to wait much longer to find out what's next for Georgie. In the trailer for the episode titled "Babies, Lies and a Resplendent Cannoli," he sits down with the information that he's going to be a dad. This weighs him down, and understandably so. From the looks of it, chances are that Georgie will sit on the information for a while. However, his parents will eventually sense that there's something wrong with him, considering his less-than-chirpy demeanor. It's curious what he and Mandy will ultimately decide about their current situation. It's worth noting that while The Big Bang Theory confirmed that Georgie has two ex-wives, there was no word about him having a kid. So, it's possible that they might not even push through with this pregnancy. Whatever the case may be, Georgie's problem will force him to grow up fast, which will ultimately prepare him to take over his family once George (Lance Barber) dies.

Between Georgie's narrative and George's looming cheating scandal followed by his death, it's noticeable that Young Sheldon's stories are becoming more mature. This is part of the sitcom's evolution as its characters, particularly its younger ones, age in the series. That being said, the show is still a comedy, and since it's CBS' premier sitcom, don't expect it to fully become a family drama. Surely, the writers will still find a way to incorporate humor into their storylines.
