Spoilers ahead for Young Sheldon season 6, episode 14.Around the same time Georgie and Mandy's baby is born, Young Sheldon season 6 offers a great excuse for The Big Bang Theory plot hole regarding their relationship. Mandy's unexpected pregnancy brought a lot of changes to the Cooper household. Mary was fired and ostracized from her church, while Sheldon developed a brief but significant fear of the future. Over time, however, the clan was able to get used to their new normal. Everyone has started treating Mandy as part of the family, and now that she has given birth to baby Constance, expect that she will continue to be a presence in Young Sheldon.
For a while, the family comedy took a break from tackling Mandy and Georgie's arc. Instead, it focused on Paige's Young Sheldon return. By the time The Big Bang Theory spin-off revisited the arc, it was time for its grand payoff — the birth of Constance Cooper. This gave the Coopers a massive cause for celebration. That being said, this also makes the long-persisting The Big Bang Theory plot hole about Mandy's part in Georgie's story worse. Luckily, Young Sheldon season 6 offered a great explanation for the inconsistency just in time.
Georgie’s TBBT Story Could Explain Why Mandy & Constance Weren’t Mentioned
In "A Launch Party and a Whole Human Being," Mandy goes into labor, and thanks to Sheldon and Brenda Sparks' help, she can get to the hospital in time. Itching to focus on his grant database project launch, George dismisses Sheldon's attempts to divert their focus on his endeavor saying that he isn't about to miss the birth of his grandchild in Young Sheldon season 6. Sheldon retorts, however, by saying that he shouldn't worry about it because Georgie will get other women pregnant in the future. This could have very well been the case since Georgie had several ex-wives in The Big Bang Theory.
This effectively gives CBS the perfect excuse for not mentioning Mandy or Constance in The Big Bang Theory. Since Georgie ended up having several failed marriages, he likely also shares kids with multiple women. This means that Mandy and Constance aren't exactly a special case that needs to be brought up during the few times he appeared in the nerd-centric sitcom. The fact that Sheldon couldn't even be bothered by Constance's arrival explains why he never mentioned her in all his years in Pasadena.
Will Georgie & Mandy Get Married In Young Sheldon?
Young Sheldon's latest timeline issue could buy more time to develop Georgie and Mandy's dynamic. The pair could ultimately rekindle their romance, especially with Constance now in the picture. Sheldon's comment about Georgie's future also gives CBS more creative room to tackle the pair's story. Now, they can even get married in Young Sheldon. Although The Big Bang Theory's canon mandates that they eventually break up, it will still provide the satisfying payoff needed for their narrative. Perhaps, Mandy could very well be Georgie's first wife, which he married when he was 19 years old, per Sheldon.
