Anyone with a TV set in the last decade probably heard about the famous television show The Big Bang Theory and its famous spin-off Young SheldonThe Big Bang Theory follows a group of scientists and focuses on their personal lives outside the labs. Arguably, the most influential character among them was Sheldon Cooper.

Therefore, Young Sheldon follows the bizarre childhood of Sheldon. Now, Hogwarts, obviously, exists in a different universe altogether, although that does not mean that Harry Potter and Young Sheldon cannot crossover, even if it is just in theory. Here are how the latter's cast would be sorted, provided they somehow magically make their way into the magical school for wizards.

Sheldon Cooper - Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw has proved to be a house for the wise, with only the most bright and eager to learn being selected by the Sorting Hat into this house. Now, of course, Sheldon being the brightest child in his house and being a little too smart for his good earns him the special right to be selected in the house of Rowena Ravenclaw, the house of the ones known for their love f0r learning.

Sheldon contains all the elements found in the lost diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw: pride in his abilities, power over his peers due to his intelligence, and envy of Paige as his rival. Like Luna Lovegood, Sheldon's knowledge of things unknown to most of the world adds another ability to his perfect placing in Ravenclaw.

Missy Cooper - Slytherin

At first glance, this entry might seem surprising; however, consider the similarities Missy shares with the house of Slytherin. Slytherin is considered as the house of the cunning and brave, Missy proved herself to be extremely talented and clever, just not in the field of academics like her brother.

In the episode "Potato Salad, a Broomstick and Dad's Whiskey," Missy helps Sheldon with his splinter by taking it out using the famous Operation boardgame and her father's whiskey as a sterilizer as if she were performing a  professional surgery at a young age.

However, she is extremely jealous of the attention that Sheldon gets, sharing similarities with the rivalry of Harry and Draco Malfoy in the books. Missy yearns for attention. Due to both living in the shadow of their brother, Missy bonds with her older brother, George Cooper. She prioritizes family, like Malfoy, and helps Sheldon with his student body debate.

George Cooper (Sr.) - Hufflepuff

As Hagrid says in The Sorcerer's Stone, "Everyone says Hufflepuff are a lot o' duffers." This proves true in George's case as he is not particularly bright but has his own hidden talents. He had his clavicle broken as a result of one of Sheldon's experiments involving a flight of stairs, and never really bonded with his son. Although he does care for Sheldon, George just doesn't give his son much of a chance to bond with his father.

George was hard-working and loved sports over many things; unfortunately, he died at the age of 50 from weight-related diseases. Similar to most Hufflepuffs, George was seen as an oddball, but through his own skills and hard work, this misfit proved he had a reason to exist in this world.

Mary Cooper - Gryffindor

Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon

Mary is the mother of Sheldon and is extremely kind, fair, loyal, and loving towards her family. She can be a little bigoted at times, a trait shared amongst many of Gryffindor's members. In The Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Penny both call Mary to ask for help in handling Sheldon, making her something of a savior to those two.

Mary is extremely religious and constantly hopes for Sheldon to follow suit. In conclusion, She has all the elements of a traditional Gryffindor, including the occasional arrogance and bigotry, thus making her the first Gryffindor in our list.

George Cooper (Jr.) - Slytherin

Just like his sister, George is tired of being always compared to his brother, which has done little to help foster a relationship with Sheldon. He is not completely disconnected from his brother as he attends his wedding and sends Sheldon a congratulating text after his Nobel Prize win.

George is a self-made rich guy. After apologizing and finally making up, he develops a stable relationship with his brother towards the end of The Big Bang Theory. Just like the house of Slytherin, he can be offputting and unlikable at first glance, but delving deeper reveals a person impacted by the attention his brother gets. Similar to the bad relationship between Harry and Malfoy, George and Sheldon's relationship improves as they grew older.

Meemaw - Gryffindor

Meemaw is one of the primary characters of the show. She is the grandmother of Sheldon and his favorite family member. She is an excellent cook, warm, loving, wise, and protective, all of which are traits found commonly in Gryffindor.

Meemaw can be rather reckless at times, specifically regarding her relationships, which produce many awkward moments between her and her family. John Sturgis is her main love interest in Young Sheldon. Meemaw possesses all the qualities that would make the Sorting Hat think twice before placing her anywhere other than Gryffindor.

John Sturgis - Ravenclaw

Dr. Sturgis from Young Sheldon, holding a paper and smiling and talking.

John is basically an older version of Sheldon. He's a genius, who tends to come across as eccentric, just like Sheldon. He loves Meemaw, another thing Sheldon and John have in common.

Like most Ravenclaw members, Sturgis tends to feel confused when it comes to social interaction and is seen vying for Meemaw's love with another man, a rare battle that he wins. He serves as a role model for Sheldon.

Tam Nguyen - Hufflepuff

Tam is a Vietnamese-American teenager and Sheldon's only friend in high school. He is loyal, fair, and can be seen as somewhat eccentric for his age, thus being the reason he struggles to connect with many people.

Tam avoids physical contact and tends to be rather short-tempered. While not a perfect fit for the Hogwarts House, Tam would be most at home in Hufflepuff.

Pastor Jeff - Slytherin

Pastor Jeff from Young Sheldon talking into the mic during a sermon, Sheldon beside him.

Pastor Jeff is a secondary rival to Sheldon, mainly due to their religious differences. Jeff disobeyed the only thing he stood for when he stole his wife's credit card to save the church, which was losing money.

Jeff is thirsty for gossip; in fact, in his small town, he comes across as less of a pastor and more of a celebrity reporter. He is cunning and wise, often taking advantage of people and making them secretly suffer before they turn to him for hope and help.

Paige - Ravenclaw

A female, smarter version of Sheldon, Paige appears only a few times in the show but automatically proves herself as the protagonist's main rival. She is not jealous of Sheldon and wants to be friends with him; however, Sheldon is extremely jealous of Paige and wants nothing to do with her.

Paige is obviously smarter and stranger than most ten-year-olds, making her a perfect fit for Ravenclaw.
