Fans are generally enjoying Young Justice's mini-arc approach for season 4. After an overly crowded season 3, season 4 goes back to basics, providing four-episode storylines for each of the show's main characters. Zatanna is currently having her arc, with Nightwing, Aquaman, and Rocket getting theirs in the second half of the season, set to air in spring 2022.

As such, it'll be a while before audiences get to see Dick Grayson back in the spotlight. However, fans already have multiple ideas about what they want from his storyline, and they take to Reddit to theorize and share their thoughts.

Jason Todd

By far, the thing fans want to see more than anything is Jason Todd finally making his way into the Young Justice universe. Jason first appeared in a season 3 episode, working under Ra's al Ghul and with no memory of what happened to him. He returned during Artemis' arc, forming complete sentences and seemingly more in control of his actions, setting the stage for his eventual reveal to the Bat-Family.

Nearly every fan on Reddit thinks Dick's arc will deal with Jason. "There's been so much hinting at Jason being involved soon it'd be nuts if that wasn't Dick's arc," says user Entire_Anywhere_2882. And user TheAngryRobin wants to see a straight-up adaptation of Under the Red Hood, one of the best Batman storylines of the 2000s. Only time will tell, but all these fans might be on the money about Jason.

Jason's Backstory

As previously mentioned, Young Justice has been notoriously quiet about the circumstances of Jason's death. There's been no exploration of his past, and his time with the Team remains unseen. Recently, the show did its own take on one of the best Batman stories of the 1980s, The Killing Joke, significantly changing several elements and reworking it to fit its narrative. Thus, fans expect the same for Jason's backstory.

"Definitely want to see flashbacks to Jason's era on the Team," says the previously mentioned user TheAngryRobin. Indeed, Jason's time with Dick during their early days as Robin and Nightwing remains unknown, and fans have been dying to see their interactions for a long time now.

Dick Confronting Bruce

Bruce and Dick's relationship is surprisingly wholesome in Young Justice. Even though the show presents one of the most jaded versions of Bruce Wayne, he's still a father to his protegés, especially Dick. The two shared a very close bond, despite their notoriously different approaches to leadership and heroism.

Some fans want to see some conflict in the Bat-Family. "Dick needs to come into conflict with Bruce," says Redditor nmiller1939. "It's the next step in Dick's arc and exactly what they set up at the end of season 3." The user is right; in season 1, Dick made it clear that he didn't want to become Batman, and season 3 had him come to terms with his place as an authority figure among the Team and the League. Dick and Bruce disagreeing could be the catalyst for Dick to become the full-on leader he was always meant to be.

The Gotham City War

The Penguin in the DC Comics

During Artemis' arc, Barbara mentions that Dick, Bruce, Tim, Kate, and Stephanie are deep undercover in a Penguin-Two Face "turf war," launching a thousand theories from anxious fans who can't wait to see it happening on the show.

Redditor Old_Man_Tony thinks, "Dick's (arc) will be all about the Bat-Family dealing with the gang war." Indeed, the idea of seeing Penguin and Two-Face, two of the coolest Batman villains ever, fighting a full-on war on Earth 16 is too good to pass and would undoubtedly provide enough material to fill four episodes.

Dick Interacting With Other Characters

Nightwing looking serious in Young Justice

Young Justice features a sprawling cast of likable characters. As one of the show's leads, Dick has plenty of screentime with many key figures on Earth 16, but some fans wished he got to share the screen with characters outside of Gotham City.

"I really hope Dick's arc isn't about the Bat-Family," wishes user WateReply. "We see enough of them in the comics and other shows." Indeed, Dick is closely associated with Batman and company, and YJ provides the perfect opportunity for the character to step out of his comfort zone. The show could perhaps pair him up with the Arrow Family as he did during the fan-favorite episode "Private Security." After Conner's death, Dick could maybe grow closer with Clark, mimicking the close bond the two have in the comics.

Dick Mourning Superboy's Death

And speaking of Superboy's death, one of the biggest complaints fans have about the current season is the lack of attention given to the surviving characters' mourning. Only Beast Boy's grief has received any significant screentime, and even M'Gann has taken a backseat.

"Wanna see (Dick cope) with the loss of Superboy," says user DestinyHasArrived101. "It must be hell for (him) since (he)... started the Team with (Superboy)." Indeed, Dick's pain at losing another friend must be significant. It took him a long time to get over Wally's death, so losing Conner will probably be a blow he won't recover from easily.

Jason Forming The Outlaws

Arsenal, Red Hood, and Starfire as the Outlaws

Jason Todd is one of the best fighters in the Bat-Family, an impulsive, aggressive, and rule-breaking vigilante with a more flexible moral code than Batman. During the New 52 period, Jason joined forces with Starfire and Arsenal to form the Outlaws, a group of underrated crime fighters.

Redditor GebsNDewl thinks Young Justice will bring this team to the small screen. "I saw a prediction that Jason will form the Outlaws at the end of this season/into next season." User ExstaticScreens likes the idea of seeing the Outlaws but thinks Starfire and Arsenal won't be part of the team. "If Jason forms the Outlaws, it'll probably be with the people he's with right now." The idea of a Jason/Cheshire/Onyx team-up is too good to pass, so this idea has several upvotes.

Starfire

Currently, Dick is in a relationship with Barbara Gordon in Young Justice. The two seem to have a solid bond, despite their long periods apart due to their respective heroic duties. The couple has several ardent supporters, but not everyone loves it. In fact, some fans are already asking for Dick's other love interest from the comics to debut in the show.

The argument of whether Starfire or Batgirl is Nightwing's true love is one for the ages, and fans want to see the love triangle play out on the small screen. User heyaheyyarequiem thinks Starfire's bubbly personality would be "the perfect balance to the Batman mentality Dick is accustomed to." Others think Starfire can appear in the show without having any relationship with Dick. "There's more to Starfire than being Dick's girlfriend," says Koala_Guru. Starfire is one of the most fun and complex characters in DC, and her arrival at Earth16 would undoubtedly shake things up.
