Season 4 of Young Justice has been a thrill for DC fans, with new episodes still dropping this June. The show has introduced some of the more obscure characters in the DC Universe, while also bringing in popular villains and heroes from around the galaxy.

There aren't that many shows that fit the audience of DC Comics with an equally niche appeal, but there are plenty of movies that are thematically similar. Fans on Ranker decided on the best choices for fans looking to discover similarly styled comic book and animation fantasy entertainment.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

Jacob Batalon, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire conduct experiments in No Way Home

The MCU's Spider-Man: No Way Home was a massive cultural hit for multiple generations of superhero fans, as the not-so-tightly-kept secret revelations of the film were very exciting for long-term fans. The film carries a similar cadence to Young Justice, in that it generally keeps a light-hearted approach toward comic book stories.

That being said, they are both fun and at times comedic, but both know how to tug at the heartstrings of their audience, displaying the emotional connection audiences have to their favorite comic book characters. After all, Spider-Man and Nightwing have often had a similar appeal.

Hawkeye (2021)

Of the Disney+ Marvel shows, Hawkeye was the most similar to Young Justice. The show expected the viewer to be knowledgeable of the universe, making the Wilson Fisk reveal so impactful, similarly to how Young Justice has treated villains like the members of The Light, Darkseid, or more recently General Zod.

Hawkeye also has some enjoyable humor, with funny side characters and strong banter, feats that Young Justice is known for. Not to mention, both shows feature a young, female, sidekick archer as a key character, as Artemis and Kate Bishop have a lot in common.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010-2012)

The Earth's Mightiest Heroes Avengers animated roster with Thor, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Wasp, Cap, Vision, Yellowjacket, Black Panther and Ms Marvel

Assemblies of different superheroes often make for great content, especially in animation. The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes ran for two seasons before the hype of the MCU and The Avengers had really taken off with the film in 2012. The show was successful and was met with critical acclaim.

The roster in the cartoon offered many of the characters that Marvel fans are familiar with. Unfortunately, the show was discontinued before it could delve into the lore fans hoped it would, never reaching the level of comic mythology that Young Justice has been known to explore.

The Legend of Korra (2012-2014)

Airbender Kids From Legend Of Korra

Young Justice has consistently had strong social themes in Seasons 3 and 4, making a distinct effort to have a diverse cast of heroes, as well as strong attention to topics of mental health and more. The Legend of Korra received similar praise from critics, as its four seasons addressed important sociopolitical issues from its time.

For a show with a younger target audience, The Legend of Korra had impressive social commentary that was considered to be ahead of its time. For fans of animation that offers serious insights into real world topics, The Legend of Korra is a solid recommendation.

The X-Men

Before The Avengers took over the superhero world, the X-Men were the prevalent Marvel superhero squad, with multiple films and animated series. Following up the animated Marvel series of the '90s was X-Men: Evolution, a show that took a new approach to the classic mutant group.

Like with X-Men: First ClassEvolution saw the heroes as teenaged versions of themselves, as the show aimed to appeal to a younger audience. DC had a similar situation with Young Justice, hoping to provide more relatable characters to its audience than the previous Justice League Unlimited.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2020)

In order to bridge the gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the animated series The Clone Wars was developed. Like with Young Justice, the show follows a younger cast, having introduced the Padawan Ahsoka Tano, not only providing a young character but also complimenting Anakin's childish side well.

The show has great banter, not only between those two, but also the variety of Jedi, Clone, and other characters the series explores. The Clone Wars heavily expanded the Star Wars universe, exploring deep corridors of the galaxy, similar to Young Justice.

There are tons of similarities between The Boys and the DC Universe, as the characters are often heavily inspired by DC. For Young Justice specifically, the shows follow plotlines about how superheroes would be viewed by the public eye and the factor of media in comic book worlds.

Like in Young Justice with Beast Boy and his TV series, The Boys revolves around The Seven, a team of superheroes involved with a multi-media corporation, showing how the artificial nature of the heroism has corrupted them. The Boys is one of the best ongoing dark comedy series.

Teen Titans (2003-2006)

Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Starfire dressed as Robin in Teen Titans

Following a team of DC sidekicks wasn't new to Young Justice, as Cartoon Network's Teen Titans was a show many fans in the 2000s grew up with. Also starring Robin, the series followed the more traditional Teen Titans lineup from the comics, only touching on characters like Aqualad and Speedy later on.

It goes to show just how good the animated side of DC TV is. For fans of Beast Boy and Cyborg in the recent seasons of Young JusticeTeen Titans has them at their best and most fun, as the two were a beloved pairing for their humorous antics and excessive pizza eating.

Invincible (2021-Present)

An animated series with a stellar cast, including Steven Yeun, J. K. Simmons, and Sandra Oh, Invincible offers another adult appropriate take on the worlds of superheroes. From Image Comics, which brought The Walking Dead and Kick-Ass, the new show follows a teen character with super powers.

Possessing its own mythology, not related to Marvel or DC, the Invincible has a new world of heroes, with the titular character as the audience's guide to how powers develop and work. Like in Young Justice, the show explores the development of powers in young characters.

Superman & Lois (2021-Present)

The Arrowverse is decreasing the number of shows in its schedule starting next year, but it seems that the success of Superman & Lois will allow it to continue. Aside from the recognizable faces of Superman and Lois Lane, the show introduces new faces, including their teen sons.

Picking up on the story of an already seasoned Superman allows for the show to explore niche aspects of the character and the DC world, including alternate universes. The sons are an important aspect of the series and have similar experiences as Superboy does in Young Justice.
