Joe Goldberg reinvents himself in the first You season 4 teaser trailer. While having a short run on Lifetime, You picked up steam when it moved over to Netflix for season 2, becoming one of the platform's most buzzed thriller shows. Since You premiered, every season has gotten bloodier and more intense for the show's leading protagonist as his killing spree continues to reach increasingly insane heights. In You season 3, Joe and Love attempted to have a typical marriage while raising a son in Madre Linda, California.

Like previous seasons, the You season 3 finale was a catastrophe for Joe, who had to kill Love and leave their son with one of his former co-workers before relocating to Paris. While You has been on hiatus since October 2021, the show is officially returning for season 4, continuing Joe's adventures in Paris. Despite their abrupt ending, Joe will continue searching for Marienne while now having to operate under a new identity, continuing a trend from past seasons. It was only a few weeks ago that You season 4 officially wrapped filming in London, and now Netflix has revealed new details about the forthcoming season.

While You season 4 has finished filming, the show won't be back until 2023 and will come in a slightly different format. Like Stranger Things season 4, You is splitting the new season into two parts. Netflix announced at this year's Tudum event that You season 4, part 1, will officially drop on Friday, February 10, while part 2 comes out on Friday, March 10, 2023. A You season 4 part 1 trailer was also released, showing Joe's latest reinvention of himself as a professor. Check out the teaser trailer below.

You Season 4 May Be The Deadliest Season Yet

The trailer gave a first look at several new You season 4 cast members, including the five new series regulars Ed Speleers (Rhys), Amy Leigh Hickman (Nadia), Tilly Keeper (Phoebe), Charlotte Ritchie (Kate), and Lukas Gage (Adam). The upcoming season will also see a total of 11 new recurring guest stars, and knowing You's track record, Joe will likely take out more than one of them. No matter how much Joe tries to leave his murdering days behind, it's only a matter of time before one or more of these new characters cross his path in the wrong way.

Assuming Joe doesn't miraculously manage to tame his inner serial killer, You season 4 could end up as the show's deadliest season yet. Given the international setting and the addition of so many new characters, You season 4's story feels like it's raising the stakes for Joe and potentially risking him actually getting caught this time. While Joe as a professor is a fascinating idea, it will be interesting to see how long he can keep that act up before eventually falling back into his destructive habits. Time will tell how things will go for Joe when You season 4, part 1, comes out on February 10, 2023.
