YOU season 3 teaser video confirms that the trailer will be released tomorrow. Based on Caroline Kepnes’ novel of the same name, YOU flew relatively under the radar until it moved from Lifetime to Netflix. The romantic thriller, which delves into the unsettling thoughts of twisted Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as he searches for a lasting relationship, experienced a surge in popularity from there and the series showcased more confidence in its storytelling for its second installment. Though the writers made a concerted effort to humanize Joe, the character’s efforts to move forward with a new chapter in his life give way to a chaotic and shocking season 2 finale.

Fans will remember that one of the main takeaways of the finale was that Joe seemed to find a new woman to be the focus of his obsessions. Now moved into the California suburbs with the pregnant Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti, who will be returning for season 3), Joe looks over to his new neighbor. She appears to be an older woman, who shares Joe’s appreciation for novels, and viewers have speculated that the woman could be Joe’s absentee mother. A new teaser trailer offers what might just be the first proper glimpse at this mystery character.

In a tweet from the show’s official account, which announced that the YOU season 3 trailer will premiere tomorrow, a brief video is included. Lasting 10 seconds, it appears to linger on the mystery woman, offering a fleeting look at her face. Check it out below.

A previous teaser for YOU season 3, which lingered on the cutting of a vanilla cake with bloodred filling, announced a premiere date of Friday, October 15. It also shared the name of Joe and Love’s baby, revealing that the boy would be called Henry. But other than that, and a tease from showrunner Sera Gamble that the stories ahead would be “bonkers,” audiences don’t yet know what to expect when the thriller makes its long-awaited return. Though season 3 was renewed all the way back in January 2020, it’s been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Badgley and Pedretti will be joined in season 3 by new cast members, including Tati Gabrielle, Dylan Arnold, Shalita Grant, Travis Van Winkle, Scott Speedman, Michaela McManus, Shannon Chan-Kent, Ben Menhl, Chris O’Shea, and Christopher Sean. When the trailer is released tomorrow, we’ll likely get a better idea of how these additions will complicate the lives of Joe and Love. And, hopefully, after a long delay between seasons, fans will get a hint of how YOU plans to once again shock its audience.
