The official companion podcast to the hit series Yellowstone launched its first episode today. Yellowstone was created by Hell or High Water screenwriter Taylor Sheridan with Sons of Anarchy's John Linson and premiered on the Paramount Network in 2018. The show follows a family who owns a ranch that borders on a Native American reservation fighting to protect their land from developers and stars Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, and Gil Birmingham.

Yellowstone season 4 is currently airing on Sundays, with 4 episodes remaining of its 10-episode run. This season, Jacki Weaver, Piper Perabo, Kathryn Kelly, and Finn Little were added to the cast. Although season 5 has not been officially confirmed, it seems unlikely that the series will end, considering that season 4 has had about triple the viewership ratings of season 1, with every episode having higher numbers than any episode from the previous 3 seasons.

Today, Paramount launched The Official Yellowstone Podcast in conjunction with 101 Studios and presenting sponsor Wynn Las Vegas. The show, which is recorded inside Wynn's own studio, is hosted by Jefferson White, who stars as ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom on the series. The first episode, which is titled "A House Divided," features stars Wes Bentley and Luke Grimes discussing family, their characters, and "what it means to be a Dutton." New episodes are set to air weekly.

The podcast's upcoming roster of guests includes Yellowstone cast and crew members like Taylor Sheridan, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille, Ryan Bingham, Jen Landon, Mo’ Brings Plenty, Forrie Smith, and Ian Bohen. The show will also feature cast and crew interviews from 1883, the Yellowstone spinoff show starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May, and LaMonica Garrett that will be premiering on Paramount+ on December 19, 2021. Assuming the podcast runs long enough, it will likely also be one of the first sources for updates on the planned second spinoff, 6666, which will be set at the Texas location Four Sixes Ranch.

It is currently unknown how many episodes the Yellowstone podcast is planning to run. Unlike other official companion podcasts like NBC's The Good Place: The Podcast, it is not following one episode of the series per episode, choosing to focus on the show in general instead. It is likely to take a break once 1883 concludes its first season and both shows are on hiatus, but fans will likely continue to hear the podcast until the Yellowstone universe goes off the air, which will likely be many years from now.
