Yellowstone season 5 details have recently been teased by Kayce Dutton actor Luke Grimes. Created by writer and director Taylor Sheridan, the western drama series stars Kevin Costner as John Dutton, the patriarch of a family who owns the largest ranch in Montana. With the Yellowstone Ranch constantly threatened by outside forces, and his family torn apart from the inside, John struggles to hold onto ownership of the ranch while striving to keep his family together.
Yellowstone season 4 sees Kayce and his family reeling after the attack on the ranch that left his father nearly dead and his son, Tate Dutton (Brecken Merrill), traumatized. With his marriage to Monica Long Dutton (Kelsey Asbille) falling apart before his eyes, he agrees to take the warrior initiation rites of his wife's tribe where he must isolate himself in the wild and endure 4 days without food or water. This test leads Kayce to experience nightmares, visions, and flashbacks that have him believe that his marriage will fail.
In a recent interview with EW, Grimes teases story details regarding Yellowstone season 5. The actor reveals that Kayce will no longer live on the Yellowstone Ranch and is back on the Broken Rock Indian Reservation. However, as the season continues, his seemingly peaceful life becomes disrupted, and he must handle whatever new set of problems befall him. Grimes also praises Sheridan's writing in season 5, calling it "fresh." Read what the actor said below.
"When you meet him [in season 5], he's off the ranch. He's sort of almost happy. He seems like he likes his little life on the res with the family. But as the story progresses, you realize he can't stay away for too long. Something calls him to take care of that legacy."

Kayce Has Tough Decisions To Make In Yellowstone Season 5
Grimes' comments indicate that Kayce is a character that may never be happy. Kayce's visceral visions during the ritual only show how emotionally conflicted he has been throughout the show. Since season 1, all Kayce has seemingly wanted was a simple life with his wife and son on a ranch. He left his family behind and wanted to start something for himself. However, as violence and tragedy seem to be attracted to the Dutton family, he could not stay away forever. Yellowstone season 5 appears to have Kayce make another attempt to protect his family from the pain that his Dutton name carries, but no matter how hard he tries, his obligations to his father and the ranch keep dragging him back in, which ultimately threatens his marriage.
In Yellowstone season 5, Kayce will likely be faced with tough choices that can determine the future of his place with his wife and child. Although he remains loyal to his father, his brother Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), and his sister Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), he may have to decide between his wife and son and his Dutton legacy. With Yellowstone season 5 set to premiere November 13, audiences do not have to wait much longer to see what decision Kayce will make.
