Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays Taissa on Showtime's Yellowjackets, is terrified of her character's sleepwalking storyline. Taissa is one of the surviving members of the titular soccer team after their plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness in 1996. The Yellowjackets are stuck there for 19 months and during that time devolve into cannibalism, tribalism, and, the occult. In the present, Yellowjackets follows each of the survivors as they deal with the trauma of what happened during those 19 months.

One of the manifestations of that trauma for Taissa is her sleepwalking habit. First manifesting during their time in the wilderness, the sleepwalking reappears in the present-day timeline, presumably due to the stress surrounding Taissa's senate campaign. The origins of the sleepwalking are shown briefly in the past timeline, but it is in the present day that it rears its ugly head, tearing Taissa's family apart. Things look to only get worse from here and Brown is terrified to find out what happens next.

In an interview with THR, Brown was asked if she knew what was next for the sleepwalking storyline, but the Scream actress revealed that she has no idea where the show is heading. Whatever it is, though, it terrifies Brown. She cites a specific scene between Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) and the older version of her character as an instance where Taissa alludes to just how bad things get, saying that it freaks her out to think about it. Read her full comments below:

No idea. I’m just as in the dark as the fans. In whatever episode it is, older Taissa sleeps over at Shauna’s [Melanie Lynskey] and she says to her, “You know how bad it gets, the sleepwalking.” That has to be alluding to something we haven’t seen and it’s kind of freaking me out. (Laughs.) So I don’t know what’s going to happen.

The Yellowjackets season 1 finale certainly hinted at just how bad things can get. In a chilling sequence, Taissa's estranged wife stops by their home to pick up some things for their son while Taissa is out. In the basement, she finds a bloody crawlspace that leads to a room with an alter setup. On it is the family dog's head, what looks to be a human heart, and a doll. The symbol found in the wilderness that has been used to torment the Yellowjackets is also written on the wall in blood.

While Taissa's sleepwalking might be in full force in the present day, it's only just beginning in 1996. Taissa was sleepwalking when Van got attacked by a wolf and she has also found herself eating dirt in the woods at one point. As things get more deadly in the past timeline, the sleepwalking seems likely to only get worse. With Yellowjackets season 2 returning in 2022, audiences won't have to wait to find out just how terrifying things get.
