Throughout the first season of Yellowjackets, only four of the characters who survived the plane crash in 1996 are shown in adulthood. Most of the other survivors aren't confirmed dead or alive in 2021, their whereabouts left mysterious. It's only in the final moments of the season finale when viewers learn that Lottie Matthews, the schizophrenic girl who seems to have a connection to shadowy forces in the Canadian wilderness, is said to be alive (and up to no good).

Even before the finale, Yellowjackets fans on Reddit were having fun suggesting which actors should play the adult versions of the other teenage characters should those characters show up alive in the present day. Since the finale, though, this dream casting has focused most intensely on Lottie (played as a teen by actor Courtney Eaton), who now seems to be central to the show's whirlpool of gruesome mysteries.

Miriama Smith

Miriama Smith glowers in We're Here to Help.

Miriama Smith is a New Zealand actress who has been appearing on-screen since she was a teen in the 1990s. She’ll be familiar to Australian and New Zealand audiences for her many roles on television and in movies over the years, but eagle-eyed American viewers may recognize her from a 2000 episode of Xena: Warrior Princess or her appearances in the Power Rangers franchise.

Reddit user VividCryptid pitched the Maori actress for adult Lottie in the Yellowjackets subreddit, and commenters thought it an inspired choice. User xxfortxx said, “She has cult leader vibes,” which might not be a compliment in other contexts, but considering what the shocking events of Yellowjackets' first season finale revealed about Lottie, it's ideal.

Maggie Q

Maggie Q loks stern in The Protege

Action movie fans know Maggie Q from her parts in films such as Mission: Impossible III and the Divergent series, or from her starring role in the TV series Nikita. If the violence ramps up in Yellowjackets, which it likely will, Q has the action chops.

Reddit user ChatterBoxer6 posted, "My pick is Maggie Q," a choice that has some detractors but also a lot of support. User lucxsramxs commented, "I love Maggie Q, so I’d be very happy with that." CineCraftKC agreed that Q is "a good pick" but pointed out that "she might not be available, as she's starring in a Fox show right now," referring to Q's role on Pivoting.

Sandrine Holt

Sandrine Holt as Gillian Cole in House of Cards Season 2

Moviegoers may recognize Sandrine Holt from her appearances in Resident Evil: Apocalypse or Terminator: Genisys, but she's arguably better known for her recurring TV roles in The L Word, House of Cards and Homeland.

Reddit user Morpel proposed that Holt is "the perfect casting for Adult Lottie." Several users noted her resemble to Courtney Eaton. "This is probably the first fan casting I've seen on this subreddit where the suggested older actor actually resembles their younger counterpart," commented pinakulala. Other Redditors noted that Holt not only resembles Eaton but has the right bearing and temperament to play Lottie, one of Yellowjackets' best characters. User DarjeelingNovel95 said simply, "I can’t see anyone else now."

Tia Carrere

Cassandra shreds on bass while singing "Ballroom Blitz" with Crucial Taunt in Wayne's World.

Thirty years later, Tia Carrere is still best known to most audiences for her role as Wayne Campbell's girlfriend Cassandra in the Wayne's World movies, but she's worked consistently ever since, with dozens of movie and TV roles under her belt.

Redditor anonymouscrank pitched the Hawaiian actress for adult Lottie because, like the other stars on Yellowjackets, she's "another '90s icon." Supporting the idea, hep_a_derp commented, "From episode 1 I’ve thought Lottie looks like a young Tia Carrere." Some commenters noted that while Carrere is more than a decade older than the character, she also looks much younger than her 55 years and could pull off the role.

Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn in The Rook Starz

Olivia Munn is one of the most famous and recognizable stars that many Redditors have suggested to play Lottie. Munn rose to fame as host of Attack of the Show in the '00s before going on to high-profile acting roles in Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom and as the mutant superhero Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse.

In Reddit posts and threads about casting adult Lottie in Yellowjackets, Munn's name comes up frequently, but it's a controversial choice. Munn has plenty of acting roles to her name, but she's not universally popular. Redditor strangelyliteral said flatly, "Munn would not be well received by this show’s fanbase," and follow-up comments in the thread bear that out. Independent-Hunter20 wrote, "No she will literally mess with the whole dynamic."

Rachel House

Marvel Thor Ragnarok Rachel House as Topaz

Viewers may remember Rachel House from her role in 2002's internationally successful New Zealand film Whale Rider. If not that, they'll know her from her frequent collaborations with Taika Waititi, appearing in his Eagle vs. Shark, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit.

For Yellowjackets fans on Reddit, House is a great choice to play adult Lottie because "she has got those eyes that remind me of Lottie, like she knows far more than she is telling you," as FarziRager put it. Many other  commenters agree that House not only looks the part but that she's a talented and compelling actor capable of carrying the role.

Shannyn Sossamon

Shannyn Sossamon in Sleepy Hollow Season 3 Episode 1

Shannyn Sossamon was one of her generation's "it" girls and a familiar face to '00s kids due to her star-making turns in A Knight's Tale, 40 Days and 40 Nights and The Rules of Attraction, all released over an 18-month period in 2001 and '02.

Sossamon is also one of the most popular choices among Reddit's Yellowjackets fans to play adult Lottie. User TrajedyAnn commented, "This is the first Adult Lottie suggestion I've seen that actually works for me." The consensus among commenters is that Sossamon is a great choice because she's the right age, more or less matches the character's ethnic background, and is "an icon of my youth like the other adult counterparts," as user Potential_Distance18 said. Intriguingly, Jolaii1991 noted, "Idk if this has any significance, but she is followed by the costume designer of Yellowjackets on Instagram."
