Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for the first three episodes of Y: The Last Man season 1.

Hulu on FX's Y: The Last Man adaptation boasts an impressive cast of actors, who are bringing all the popular characters from the classic graphic novel series to life. The ensemble also features some original characters created for the series, who will expand upon the world of the original comics.

Written by Brian K. Vaughan with art by Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man detailed the fall of civilization in an alternate Earth where almost every creature with a Y chromosome spontaneously died for some unexplained reason. The only exceptions were an escape artist named Yorick Brown and a helper monkey he had been training. The series centered around Yorick and his quest to reunite with his girlfriend, who was stranded in Australia during the disaster, but also explored how society changed in a world run by women. The series stands alongside Neil Gaiman's The Sandman as one of the greatest comic books for adults ever written and one of the best series to come out of the Vertigo Comics' imprint for adult readers.

The cast list for Hulu on FX's Y: The Last Man confirms that all of the comic's main characters are present and accounted for. However, it also appears that the first season will feature a greater emphasis on political intrigue, with the character of Jennifer Brown now being President of the United States rather than a Congressional Representative (as she was in the comics) and several original characters contesting with her over the fate of the nation. The series will also be more trans-inclusive than the comics, going into greater detail regarding how trans men are treated after the apocalypse. Here's the full cast and character guide for Y: The Last Man.
