Warning: Light spoilers ahead for X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #62The recently released X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #62, the first in a fresh arc focusing on X-Men's Charles Xavier experiencing an It's A Wonderful Life like multiversal adventure, has revealed that the iconic X-Babies are still alive and well, and are hopefully being rescued from the Mojoverse by the mutants of Krakoa.

The adorable X-Babies first debuted in 1986's Uncanny X-Men Annual #10, after Mojo of Mojoverse de-aged the core X-Men team in an attempt to capitalize on their increased cute factor for his terrifying world of entertainment and imprisonment. Although the first X-Babies - young versions of Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Magneto, Colossus, Psylocke, Longshot, and Kitty Prude - were saved and aged up by the New Mutants, Mojo then created his own X-Babies in 1988's Uncanny X-Men Annual #12 after the X-Men were presumed dead in the Fall of the Mutants event.

Mojo's creation of the X-Babies was a bid to get increased ratings, and this mirrored the real world reason why Marvel most likely decided to reintroduce the X-Babies, as TV shows like Muppet Babies and Flinstone Kids all debuted a bit before the X-Babies rebirth. Of course, as soon as Mojo created the X-Babies they began to rebel against him and the other denizens of Mojoverse - they are X-Men, after all - and he was about to have them slaughtered until he was informed that their instant ratings in the Mojoverse than higher than any previously recorded entertainment. After their initial debut the X-Babies, in various iterations and fighting different baby-versions of their enemies like Funsize (a baby Arcade) or the "Brotherhood of Mutant Bullies," continued to show up in Marvel comics until their most recent appearance in 2015's Spider-Man & the X-Men #3. Now though, in a blink and you'll miss it Data Page from X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #62 - written by Jordan Blum with art by Salva Espin and Israel Silva and lettering from Joe Sabino - it has been officially confirmed that Charles Xavier and the mutants of Krakoa are working hard on winning the X-Babies freedom from Mojo and bringing them home to Krakoa.

The X-Babies NEED To Come To Krakoa

X-Men Unlimited X-Babies

While a rest of Blum's X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic arc will seemingly take place in the alternate universe of The Age of Apocalypse, the issue concerns Charles Xavier beginning to realize he is less needed on Krakoa than he thought, when every item on his busy itinerary is already being done by another citizen of Krakoa. On his itinerary at the 6 PM slot, Xavier has written, "Meet with Mojoverse Legal Re: X-Babies release -- Mojoverse," which not only formally confirms that the X-Babies are still alive and in canon in Mojoworld, but that the Krakoan government is attempting to use their diplomatic weight to free the babies still apparently trapped in servitude to the grotesque Mojo. Of course, the X-Men have assaulted the Mojoverse countless times in the past, saving ally after ally from the horrifying slave planet, so it is interesting that the Quiet Council is attempting to go the official and legal route to save the X-Babies, who are probably some of the most vulnerable allies to ever by locked away with Mojo. The X-Babies, who have adorable names like "Cyke" for baby Cyclops and "Sugah" for baby Rogue, have always been a blast to read, as they are fresh and unique takes on fan-favorite classic X-Men, and it would be truly amazing if the ragtag crew of baby mutants turned up on Krakoa in the near future.

Although Mojo and his Mojoverse legal team are notoriously difficult to contend with, Xavier and the Krakoan government have dealt with incredibly intense domestic, global, and intergalactic legal issues, and if they aren't able to rescue the X-Babies through legal means, the X-Men will hopefully dispatch a team to save them by force.
