All of Marvel's X-Men titles have seen increasingly sexy plot threads emerge since the launch of the overarching Dawn of X storyline/redesign. The Jean Grey/Cyclops/Wolverine/Emma Frost love trapezoid apparently has evolved into a polyamorous arrangement. Emma orchestrated a Jersey Shore-esque snog with Pyro and Marvel Girl in Marauders #9. In recent issues of X-Force, late-night meetings between Domino and Colossus have exhibited a rising degree of intimacy and sensuality.

Now the mind behind Marvel's X-Force has raised the stakes, promising a new scene that will make history -- at least in the minds of the fans who remember the sexiest moments from Marvel mutant history. Current X-Force scribe Benjamin Percy kept the details vague, but gave sufficient hints to incite X-Fans' curiosity as to who will be featured in the mutants' next erotic exploit.

Percy's teasing tweet praises artist Joshua Cassara's work on the upcoming X-Force #10, while effectively daring X-Men fans to jump into a maddening guessing game:

What can that possibly mean? And to what extent will fandom (horny, human, and otherwise) try to foresee the content of Cassara's page? Because it's the X-Men, some of the figurative language may be considered purposeful hints, e.g. there are mutants who can literally melt hearts (Firestar, moreso than Pyro) and/or fan flames (Storm, Whirlwind, and again Pyro). The dual emphasis on "THEM" might refer to the ever-predominant Grey/Summers/Logan situation, but the cheeky excess of all caps suggests a misdirect. "Them" could also be a non-gendered pronoun, or an X-Person who naturally uses a plural pronoun, such as Multiple Man or the Stepford Cuckoos, or both/all of them.

The likeliest scenario probably involves Domino and Colossus, given their recent leading roles in X-Force and their unsubtly-bubbling sexual tension. Which is not to say the teased page necessarily involves a coupling ("sexiest" could mean Colossus emanating shiny magnificence by himself) but it's more fun to think about scenarios with more than one mutant. Both Domino and Colossus have had extraordinarily rough times in recent X-Force storylines; some heart-melting might be revelatory for them. On the other hand, for purely punny reasons one could hope that "Dom" (Domino's nickname) might share a salacious moment with Sub-Mariner, although that seems like an extraordinary stretch. Besides, if the scene is truly for the "horniest" X-Fans, shouldn't one also consider Magik and Armor?

So many possibilities! And all of them, even if only imagined, are X-tremely exciting.
