Hugh Jackman proves that he can easily step back into Wolverine's shoes in a brand new video. After playing the fan-favorite mutant for 17 years, the Australian actor officially hung up the Adamantium claws in 2017 via the critically acclaimed Logan. Despite that, it seems like he's still ready to reprise the role in an instant if the opportunity to do so arises.

One of the cast members of the original X-Men film, which hit theaters 20 years ago, Jackman became synonymous with the role as he continued to portray it. He played Wolverine in a total of nine films: three from the main X-Men continuity, three from the prequel timeline and three from his titular solo adventures. He capped things off with James Mangold's Logan, which saw the hero finally meeting his death. The film was both a hit for critics and the general viewing audience, so despite its sad ending, it was a great send-off to the character.

It's been more than three years since Jackman played Wolverine in Logan, and yet it doesn't seem like the actor has forgotten how to play the character. In a new video preview for the upcoming series Marvel's Storyboards, Marvel Comics' Joe Quesada asks the actor if he could show him how to properly grunt and yell like the cigar-smoking mutant. Always game for fun things, Jackman obliged. Check out the video below:

Considering the fact that Jackman played the role for almost two decades, it makes sense he still knows how to play Wolverine. Seeing him reprising the role despite the circumstances must be a treat for a lot of fans who missed seeing him in the role. He's done such a stellar job portraying Wolverine that regardless of the quality of the movies he was in, fans can always expect an amazing acting job from him. No wonder, even when Jackman has repeatedly reiterated that he's done playing Wolverine and is looking forward to the next actor who'll bring the character to life, the public continues to hope that somehow, he'll be back as Wolverine - especially now that the X-Men will soon be incorporated in the MCU.

If anything, this video proves that if he wants to, he can un-retire and easily reprise Wolverine moving forward. If that happens, one would be hard-pressed to find anyone against the idea. However, the truth of the matter is, he's set on his decision to move on from his breakthrough role. Chances of seeing Jackman play Wolverine outside of fun interviews like this are very slim right now. Still, that doesn't mean it will never happen. With the MCU fully diving into the multiverse, it's possible that they can bring him back just for a fun Easter egg, which would be more than enough to make Wolverine fans ecstatic.
