One of the most underappreciated mutants on Krakoa is the X-Men's Magik, as the Soulsword-wielding hero has become an important character over the years. In new fan art by Kevin Chua shared on Reddit, Colossus' sister and her powerful weapon get a gorgeous interpretation which brings Anya Taylor-Joy's version of the hero in New Mutants into the comics in her most iconic costume.

Ilyana Rasputin is one of the core members of the New Mutants as she joined the team after being trapped in Limbo for her entire childhood. It's in that dimension that Colossus's sister learned about dark magic, which she uses as part of her mutant powers of transdimensional teleportation. Magik is also known for her Darkchydle persona, spawning her powerful armor as she takes on her more demonic side with her powerful Soulsword weapon. In new fan art, the live-action version of Magik from New Mutants gets the comic book treatment.

On their Reddit account, artist Kevin Chua shared his take on Magik, showing off the hero in one of her most iconic costumes in a stunning piece of fan art. The piece is undoubtedly inspired by Anya Taylor-Joy's version of the character who appeared in the New Mutants film, as she looks nearly identical to the actress. The fan art features Colossus' sister in her black, spiked costume, pointed headpiece, and X-belt, as her massive Soulsword illuminates the mutant as she's ready for battle. It's a great illustration of the X-Men hero and the power behind her look and weapon.

The fan art gives fans of New Mutants and Anya Taylor-Joy the ultimate what if...? as her version of Magik never got to appear with her classic costume as they did a more casual look in the film. Regardless of how one views the New Mutants film, it's hard to deny it feels like a missed opportunity if Taylor-Joy never appears as Magik again in live-action, as she was perfectly cast in the role.

Thankfully, Magik has been getting an appropriate spotlight in the comics. Not only has she recently become the Sorcerer Supreme of Limbo, but she has been featured as a main character in the current New Mutants comic from Vita Ayala and Rod Reis, one of the best X-Men books currently on the shelves. Ultimately, the fan art and costume show how beloved Colossus' sister Magik is and the character's true potential both inside and outside the pages of Marvel Comics.
