Warning! Spoilers ahead for Wolverine #13

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Wolverine, a classic version of X-Force reunites at the end of the X-Men's Hellfire Gala on the mutant island nation of Krakoa. While the current X-Force has been running security for the major night of extravagance and huge reveals for mutantkind, a surprising threat revealed itself that X-Force has to quietly contain before creating an international incident. Furthermore, they end up receiving some much-needed help from Wade Wilson's Deadpool, who desperately wants to party despite not getting an invitation.

While the prior chapter of the Hellfire Gala (X-Force #20) sees Deadpool being thwarted and denied entry to the gala by Wolverine and Domino, X-Force soon has bigger fish to fry thanks to Beast. Using Krakoan telefloronics, Beast has been controlling and spying on the country of Terra Verde, using their ambassadors as his own secret puppets. However, the telefloronic programming fails in the midst of the Hellfire Gala, leading to their transformation into plant monsters seeking revenge for what has been done to them. With Krakoa's international standing at risk, X-Force is tasked with containing the situation.

Wolverine #13 from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Scot Eaton sees X-Force secretly battling the Terra Verdeans and trying to keep things quiet for the sake of their nation, not wanting to have an international incident on their hands. Thankfully, Deadpool himself ends up helping Domino escape the clutches of one of the ambassadors, and X-Force's Sage is able to orchestrate a cease-fire by agreeing to significant reparations provided Terra Verde remains quiet about what has been done to them. However, the issue ends on a happier and more hilarious note, as Deadpool is actually invited to join in the festivities near the end of the party, joining his old X-Force allies Wolverine and Domino for some drinks.

Wolverine-13-X-Force-Reunion

While Deadpool does call the three of them the "OG" X-Force, that isn't quite accurate. The first and actual OG roster consisted of Domino, Cable, Cannonball, Warpath, Shatterstar, Feral, and Boom-Boom. Wolverine and Deadpool wouldn't show up on the team until later. However, it wouldn't be surprising if Wade Wilson's mindset is that the OG X-Force is the team that first had him on it, with none others existing beforehand. There's a pretty solid chance that that's exactly what he thinks.

In any case, it is pretty cool to see classic members of the X-Force team coming together for drinks, especially as the X-Men and Krakoa are about to enter a whole new era the likes of which the Marvel Universe has never seen before. As a result, it's nice to have some nostalgia and it's great that Deadpool is actually allowed to join the party seeing as how he and Krakoa haven't had the best relationship since its creation. Due to his volatile nature, Krakoa has essentially been keeping him at arm's length, though perhaps that could soon change...if only to stop Deadpool's hilarious begging for Wolverine to let him back on the team.
