Warning: SPOILERS for New Mutants #3

When it comes to the looks department, the X-Men's Glob Herman struck out big time. The mutant was born with completely transparent skin made up of bio-paraffin. Glob's insides are on full display, including his skeleton and internal organs. Sadly, at first glance, he's a monster. While he drew the short-end in the looks department, Glob still deserves love - And that's exactly what he's looking for on Krakoa.

In New Mutants #3, Glob can't help but notice how Krakoa is bringing everyone together and is, quite frankly, horny as hell. For some, there's an open-door policy. Meanwhile, the goal of some mutants is to continue to make more mutants. Glob wants in on the action.

As Armor pitches a plan to continue to find more missing mutants and get to Beak and Angel in Nebraska, Glob can't help wonder if love is coming his way. After sharing a dance with Pixie, he asks Armor whether he's got a shot with her. He says that "with everyone falling in love with each other" on Krakoa, that he might have a chance. Armor winces and tells Glob to "just ask her." Embarrassed, the transparent mutant says to forget he said anything and that "it was stupid to think."

The thing is, it's not at all stupid for Glob to think he deserves love. Just because he's been genetically unlucky in terms of looks, doesn't mean he can't find someone to be happy with. Falling for Pixie is a reference to Generation X #8, where Glob was seen in the background of a panel holding her hand. The throwaway panel didn't amount to much at the time, but it's a nice callback all the same.

Glob understandably lacks self-confidence. When Maxime and Manon find him and Armor leaving to Nebraska, they ask them where they are sneaking off to. A shaken Glob responds with nervousness. This could be because Glob didn't want to unveil Armor's plan, but it also could be partly because he's nervous someone would suggest he and Armor would be sneaking off together. Armor clearly cares for Glob. She's serving as his confidant, but maybe Glob will realize what's been in front of him this entire time.

Glob's squishy, pink appearance might have deterred him from finding love up until this point. But, on Krakoa, mutant heritage is celebrated and no matter who you are or what you look like, you're welcome with open arms. If Glob can find love anywhere, it will be there. Heck, his trip to Nebraska visiting Beak and Angel's hybrid family should inspire confidence he can find someone. There's little doubt he deserves it.
