X-Men: First Class Gets A Composer & Some Models

Sarah Harding as villain in X-Men: First Class

We're only a few weeks away from the production start of  X-Men: First Class and while we await the final casting decisions to be made, we do have some new updates regarding another potential villainous cast member, several mutant models and a Kick-Ass composer who'll be helping to score the film.

In our last in-depth discussion on X-Men: First Class, we explored the idea of whether or not the film would be a true prequel to the exiting X-Men franchise or if it'll act as a reboot. While some recent interviews hinted that it could be out of continuity, director Matthew Vaughn partially clarified the matter and opened the doors to speculation regarding time travel and other comic book conventions that could explain the plot and how this film fits into the X-Men movie universe.

Auditioning Another Villain & Other X-Men: First Class Models

Sarah Harding (St Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold), model and member of the English-Irish pop group 'Girls Aloud' as seen in the image above, might be joining the cast of X-Men: First Class. She's auditioned at least twice and is waiting word on whether or not she'll be playing a character described as a "femme fatale baddie."

As to what character Harding could be playing, we don't have any info yet so I'll leave that for you to speculate. Would she work for Kevin Bacon's mysterious villain character?

Curiously, Sarah Harding is not the only London model being looked at for the cast of First Class as another model, Nina Malone, put up an update on her Facebook page Monday seeking out several other models who'd be available to shoot at Pinewood Studios (where the X-Menprequel is shooting) in the first week of September. Here's her message:

"Urgent last minute casting, new x men film. Casting tomorrow, paid casting £50, looking for 6 female models, healthy figures, 5.8 - 5.11, casting is at pinewood studios, tomorrow at 8 am, dates of filming, 3rd and 7th of sept, fitting on 18th of august, paid work, my cast with no make up and in a swim suit. Please get in contact if your free, nina x"

Malone later updated that they had found their 6 models already. Now, if only they could find out who's playing Cyclops and Jean Grey that fast...

Expect more X-Men: First Class announcements soon as Twentieth Century Fox and Matthew Vaughn prep for shooting at the beginning of next month.

A Kick-Ass Composer

Henry Jackman composing score for X-Men: First Class

Matthew Vaughn likes to stick with those closest to him as we saw with Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass co-writer) coming onboard to conduct another rewrite of the X-Men: First Class script and now we're seeing it with Kick-Ass composer Henry Jackman also joining the reunion.

Jackman composed the score for Monsters vs. Aliens and worked in the music department for massive film projects including The Dark Knightand the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. His work on Kick-Ass was perfect for the tone of the film and genre and it should mesh nicely Vaughn's take on the X-Men franchise.
