In X-Men lore, Professor X hasn't had too many wardrobe changes over the years, but after creating a mutant utopia on the island nation of Krakoa, Professor X’s upgraded his look with a sleek and helmeted design that this new cosplay embodies perfectly!

Recently posted on Instagram by Pat Loika (@patloika), this creative talent specializes in taking nerdy photographs of the best cosplayers around while utilizing his skills to edit and enhance these photos in ways that make them even more comic-accurate than before. Meanwhile, Mike Dickens (@contagiousmedia) might not have many costumes under his belt just yet, but this Professor X design immediately makes a case for why he needs to dabble in the world of cosplay more often!

Professor X's Krakoa Design Gets a Perfect Cosplay Look

The leader, benefactor, mastermind, and father figure behind the X-Men and an extremely powerful telepathic mutant in his own right, Professor X aka Charles Xavier, was once confined to a wheelchair before gaining back the ability to walk right around the time mutant-kind made Krakoa their home, bringing with it a new look that he's still sporting today. Wearing a giant “X” branded Cerebro helmet and an all-black, skin tight bodysuit, Charles Xavier’s current X-Men design is a simple yet effective one, and with both Pat Loika and Mike Dickens on the cosplay case, it looks even better in real life.

Shot wide and low so that fans can see the entirety of Mike’s Professor X design, it’s made abundantly clear right away that this is a cosplay worthy of the iconic X-Men character he’s cosplaying. Making a slight adjustment to Xavier’s comic look by adding a little blue to his black bodysuit, Mike’s cosplay is brought to the next level by Pat Loika’s photo editing skills. Placing Mike in what looks to be Krakoa’s Hatchery (also known as Arbor Magna) — the place where mutants are resurrected after death — Pat brings a life-like feel to the giant living tree set at the heart of this location and accents the image with glowing particles, realistic greenery, and a brilliant shining aura around Professor X’s Cerebro helmet that brings this picture right in line with what fans are used to seeing on the page.

The X-Men are currently in the thick of another comic conflict where their skills will be pushed to the limits, so here’s hoping that Pat Loika (@patloika) and Mike Dickens (@contagiousmedia) will team up once again after the dust settles to bring fans another spot-on cosplay image. Professor X has never looked better in X-Men comics, and thanks to these talented creators, he’s never looked better in live-action either!
